the Friendship/Rivalry mechanic in Dragon Age 2 was a great variant of the typical binary say what companions want to hear until they like you or be a dick to your companions because youre evil morality systems that Bioware games usually had. getting a companions Friendship came at the cost of enabling their worst traits while earning their Rivalry meant they disliked you but were changing because of your influence.
Also changing dialogue based on the responses you made Hawke give so he'd say nice, saracastic, or mean things in cutscenes on his own was also a nice touch.

Yeah, I just don't like the soundfont used for this game, made music sound like noise >_>
