Geoff Duncan, a former Republican lieutenant governor of Georgia, said his driving motivation every day when he wakes up is to figure out a way to love his neighbor.

this shit always sounds creepy when you say it out loud.

But he did get expelled from the party for endorsing Kamala so it's not like he's a MAGA goon

The governor before Kemp was a Democrat turned Republican and was actually not horrible. This guy is probably cut from the same cloth. I'd need to see who else runs in the primary though.

Still need to see what his plans are, so I haven't decided whether I'll vote for him yet, but him not endorsing trump is a plus.

I recently road tripped down to Orlando from Nebraska and was shocked at how little Trump shit I saw going through all the southern states (went Nebraska > Iowa > Missouri > Arkansas > Tennessee > Alabama > Georgia > Florida...wanted to avoid going down the mountains and through Atlanta) up until we got to Georgia, then that shit was fucking everywhere lol

Maybe it's just because we mostly drove through the rural parts of the state but it doesn't give me much hope

It's nice that he's a non-MAGA republican.

But we (the entirety of the left) have been burned way too many times by "middle of the road Republicans" they take pictures with democrats but they vote with MAGA.

The Left has lost way too much ground, we can't afford any more politicians who get a boner at the idea of "Meeting republicans halfway" anymore.
