Cooked thoroughly unless you are processing the meat yourselves in kitchen.

Ground beef has lots of surface area and has an elevated chance to be exposed to infections.

I want ground beef well done in most cases. I am also the type of person that will eat rare steaks. I find the whole lets not cook ground beef thing sketchy unless it is coming from a place I trust to be completely capable of sourcing, handling, processing, and preparing the beef.

Idk but at Burger King, there is only one way to cook their burgers since it is all done through a broiler oven, and the settings cant be adjusted.

I did once order a burger from a place done either medium rare or medium back before I decided this, and they came out with a form.

Said I could either get the burger well-done or sign this health release waiver.

I decided against the burger.

In that case you should also be asking for your steaks well done. Many are blade tenderized. The blades push the bacteria from the surface into the steak.

I get my burgers well done. I went to a gym friends house and the burgers they cooked were rare. I was pissed.

I've never once ordered a burger at a restaurant and had them ask how I want the burger cooked. Bitch, it's got egg in it, if it's homemade. I want that thing cooked all the way through.

So a whole bunch of places don't actually follow the rare, medium rare, medium, medium well, well done scale anymore. Many won't do rare to begin with and even then will flirt with avoiding medium rare. Instead, what they really are looking for is "pink" or "no pink". Whatever you say is translated into those two options.

Some places will admit this outright. But others wont and rely on you not knowing the difference (95% of people won't)
