My Gamestop isn't doing a special release, so I'd need to wait until 11am Thursday to pick it up from them. Earliest physical option for most people might be Wal-Mart (assuming it's in stock). I'm hoping my closest Wal-Mart will let me buy it tomorrow night - maybe I can give em some shpiel about 9pm our time being Thursday on the east coast, I dunno.

There were two changes in the patch.

1) Tifa's was given a black undershirt in the Remake flashback to match the one in the Rebirth flashback.

2) Aerith's final line was changed from "I miss it. The steel sky..." to "This sky, I don't like it".

Nobody who matters cares about the first one.

The second one is offensive and I will never forgive them. The new line is soooo much worse!

Yeah, first I'm hearing about this and it sucks. Changing the final line of dialogue from something mysterious and impactful to something so generic... why?

Fails to get across what the actual meaning is, too. The first version was both poetic AND understandable. The new version is just a regular ass observation, makes it sound like Aerith is scared it's gonna rain or something.

The actual meaning of the line is that she's scared of Jenova/meteor coming from this sky. The original doesn't get that across at all.

Youtube uploads are trickling in now. After Infinite Wealth killed my hands (95 hours in a month is...a bit much at my age), watching this game is gonna feel like a dream. I'm only at the Chocobo Ranch, but cool stuff is already peppered in. Story differences, new character scenes, the vistas are just cool and big. I'm amped for this.

Better yet, other than the Flashback, Kalm took only about a half hour or so. No super sized Midgar bullshit this time. Only Junon should get that treatment. Maybe they learned they have too much fucking shit to redo.

Ohhhhhh the demo skip sucks ass.

You still have to do basically all the tedious walk and talk stuff I wanted to skip the most.

You can skip until after the credits roll and it just skips the big gameplay chunk on the mountain.

Ugh my Amazon copy still hasn't shipped. I have Friday off so I'd love to have it to play all day.

Gonna try Target in the morning. I was able to preorder and pick up 16 the day before at GameStop but I called today and they said they're out of their allotment.

Something like Unicorn Overlord where it's literally just "here's the first 8 hours of the game and you keep playing when it comes out" is excellent, but I mostly agree for all traditional demos.

I only played this because it told me I could skip the section in retail, which was a half truth.

Played the first two hours of Queen's Blood. Got a couple of booster packs, ranked up, starting to get a hang of things. The story side content is kinda distracting though.

I believe the assumption was that Tifa knew it was all fucked up, but she was afraid to speak up because she was afraid of breaking his brain further. So she wanted to keep an eye on her, that and Cloud saved her after being grievously wounded so her memory could be fucked with, too.

I'm really enjoying all the little character moments. Aerith and Tifa continue their besties routine from Remake, and Aerith and Red have some weird story rapport going on that is kinda nice. I'm a sucker for intra-party bonding moments that happen away from the main story.
