It's that time again... time for Board 8 to vote for its favorite animated series of all time! Last time in 2022, Death Note triumphed in a series of razor-thin upsets... will it be able to defend its crown this time, or will one of the blue-bloods return for revenge? Or will we see an entirely left field champion?
The rules are similar to last time, we'll start with a nomination thread and then we'll have a single elimination tournament of the 128 top nominated shows! Sounds pretty simple, right?
-
You may nominate up to 20 different animated shows.
Up to 5 of these nominations can be double nominations, in which you BOLD one of your nominees and it will count for two nominations.
-
Please don't edit your original post, if you want to change a nomination just make a new post stating what you're changing.
-
Every 24 hours you get five new nominations to use. You don't get any extra double nominations, though.
-
It takes three nominations to get into the tournament! You can still nominate a show if it has three nominations, as extra nominations will count for higher seeding.
-
Starting this tournament, I reserve the right to seed a show higher or lower than its nomination total would warrant, based on previous tournament results and expected performance. I'll only be doing this in cases where it's warranted (a popular "blue blood" show only getting 3 or 4 nominations and being underseeded as a result, or an out of left field show getting an undeserved 1 or 2 seed). and I'll do my best not to bump a show more than a few spots up or down, and it'll be on a case by case basis. I will NOT be doing this to "save" a popular show with only one or two nominations, a show still has to get three nominations to be in the field no matter what, even the defending champion (see Yu-Gi-Oh in 2022).
-
Nominations will last as long as it takes to get to 128 shows with three! If things slow down, I reserve the right to run a "tiebreaker" round for two nomination shows if we can't make it to 128 after a certain amount of time has passed.
