Did my list a while ago but I've been putting off a few writeups that I want to finish before posting.

I swear there's a super distinctive style for music released between, like, 2000-2003. Especially for artists from the 90s who were looking to shift their style to keep up with shifting post-Y2K culture. It's not something that I'm attached to, I don't ever seek out 00s music like I do some other "time period" styles. So this was a bit unexpected. But the production value and quality is a noticeable upgrade over her first album which I listened to a day earlier, so I'd be willing to call this album better overall. I can imagine that this one has some dedicated fans who were more appealed by the direction she was going in 2002.

Hmm. This is definitely music that sounds the same way that it looks on the cover. I was halfway wishing that it would be more happy poppy style like their earlier works. But I think I wasn't in the right headspace for listening to this, because it feels like something that I should like. I did skip 4 albums between this and the last one, so the differences between the two would probably be less pronounced if I heard them all gradually. I think what I need to do is wait a while for it to purge from my memory and then revisit this, and I expect that my opinion will be higher the second time.

I listened to Fey's album Tierna La Noche (second album) like ~2 years ago and she's been on my "I should listen to more from this artist" list ever since. This one (first album) was a serviceable listen but lacked any real stand-out, memorable songs for me. I can easily understand why a lot of her biggest songs came from her second album now.

I had heard some of their singles before (thanks Board Game Online), but this weekend I looked them up and learned that they were a much bigger group than I realized (both in popularity and amount of songs). Only 3 of their albums were posted on their official channel for some reason (I'm sure the rest are uploaded unofficially) so I decided to start with this one. Their newest album literally released a month ago so I'll try that one next.

If you want a shirt with 2 colors on it, you could just buy a common tie-dye kit and a plain white t-shirt and make a shirt with 2 colors.

I've been thinking about this a lot. Not sure if I'd actually go do it but I did take a look online to see what kind of basic dye kits they sell in stores.

I nominated this theme a while back partially with the intention of seeing which episodes had the largest impact in terms of being referenced in popular culture. This looks like a good batch. There are probably a few top tier episodes that I haven't seen but I don't see them referenced as much (e.g. It's a Good Life).

This is the game that singlehandedly made me want to get a PS4, because otherwise this was the generation when PlayStation started moving away from the type of games that I play and tried making itself into a clone of Xbox. But this game has massively influenced my life. I backed the Kickstarter, I obsessively listened to the soundtrack, I attended the live concert, and I met up with people who I first met online because of this game (needless to say I've also watched it for hundreds of hours on Twitch).

...Not sure if I can come up with another valid vote for anything else on this console.

Pokemon RSE - Yeah SFF with the rest of them but I'm picking this because on the whole GBA had fewer colored carts than GB, so colored GBA carts stand out more in comparison
Legend of Zelda (NES)
Pokemon Stadium 2 (woo 2 color split)
Game Boy Camera

DK64 (I have no idea why this one always stood out to me more than every other colored N64 game, but it seemed fitting)

Fun Fun - No More Tears
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nZJ01YdPPE4

This song had a delayed effect on me. I found it a month ago, and I checked it out of curiosity of how this group from the 1980s inexplicably released a song in 2022 (also the name of the song). It was just a one and done listen at the time. But I revisited it a few weeks later and that time it hooked me a lot more, and I ended up listening it it like once a day for over a week. I know this is a backwards and ironic thing to say, but this song kind of strikes me as a modern era Freezepop song.

Not a Sonic player, I only clicked this topic to see the results of the Pokemon topic. (I knew it would be awkward based on how the later posts were going, and also how long the results took to calculate)

Sonic 2
Sonic 3
Sonic & Knuckles
Spinball
Mean Bean Machine
Adventure 2 Battle (Gamecube)
Adventure DX (Gamecube)
Advance
Heroes

All of my Genesis games were played on PS2 Mega Collection; I've never played them on a physical Genesis. Everything else that was in Mega Collection I've played but not beaten (yes, even Sonic 1). I've also briefly played Sonic Riders and Sonic & Sega All-Star Racing but not enough to say I've beaten them.

If "Knuckles in Sonic 2" counts then add that to my list (since other people listed it), though I was assuming that it wouldn't count.

Tilt may have been one of the earlier Kahimi Karie albums that I heard, but when I was going through them and listening to them one by one, this was the one that really jumped out at me the most. It makes sense why, I was obviously influenced by her song in We Love Katamari, and this album has a bunch songs that are similar to that one in style and mood. I was also lucky enough to get this album nominated for Rank the Tracks last year so I was able to share it with people. Last week I had to drive somewhere longer than my usual commute so I listened to this in the car.

Precipice

I can plainly say, both of these songs are not for me. I'm not sitting here thinking "I hope Precipice wins the contest". In fact I considered abstaining this match out of apathy for the two options. It's been (more than) 97 days and I've found plenty of songs that I enjoyed in the noms and round 1. None of them made it to the finals, and that's too bad; even if a majority of B8 didn't vote for them, I still discovered them and can listen to them whenever I want. But the fact remains that the contest is not over yet. There's still a voting day left, and so regardless of where these two songs fall within the entire field of 256 songs, I prefer the song Precipice over the song Shiva, and I will give the match its deserved vote.
