I don't know man. I'm iffy on that level of protest against an individual for a singing contest.It is a song Contest and it is pretty much the same thing as an athlete going to the Olympics, yeah. And the winning country gets to host the next edition of the Contest.
I've never watched Eurovision so I might be ignorant on the level of national representation it represents. Like, I can understand protesting an Olympic team during Olympics (Russia for example). Should I be seeing this in the same manner? Maybe that's where my disconnect is.

Still dumb though and it is of course highlighted this year due to Israels atrocious gencidal actions. The Armenian delegation was fined/reprimanded for bringing the flag of Nagorno-Karabakh into the green room in 2016 for example.

America tried to do a Eurovision. It was called American Song Contest. But it only happened once and then got canceled. I actually watched it. But it probably wasn't as grand as Eurovision. Basically instead of countries, they had every state, plus all US territories submit a song. I can't even remember who wonI actually watched it and it felt a bit underwhelming, yeah. Not interesting songs enough on the whole as well.
