i'll absolutely second the idea of bit trip complete for Wiiware. there's a disc with 'em all called that, so if you can get it that's good. otherwise the Bit Trip games are also on PC and 3DS (not sure if they're DSi/3DSware or not but as it got a bad collection port ia ssume it's there).

hm... sure. updated 'versions' isn't really an 'original' so i don't see why not. finalized V1 of her, if you want to make a V2 that's no problem on my end. just needed to find a cutoff date for completely new and not so work can be done.

little red riding shoggoth is cool. she's also one of the rare non-humans, and even rarer in taht she's a direct combatant.

side guilty gear character sounds like weird flavor (GG's BB Hood i take it) but if it's not there oh well. phantom energy's flesh ripping for some reason is giving me shades of Umineko there, which i suppose fits the dark comedy trope she's goin' for.

similar standard as the rest, she'll be on the wiki and all that, and eventually i'll see if she can fit anywhere to make interesting fights. but that powerset leaves me doubtful, sorry. i mean i'm assuming she's from the same universe as eveny (and probably that terrain - that is way too specific and long to not be from something) which is why those powers are like that, but that's the sort of thing that... works within its universe (how well or not, i don't know) and has trouble elsewhere.

well yeah, interesting abilities are nice, but there's two kinds of interesting:

- interesting to imagine as powers.
- interesting in a fight.

using superman or flash as examples, they have a lot of interesting powers. Supes with his super strength, speed, durability, etc has resulted in some pretty interesting things. especially as you go into the realm of later Supermen where you've got like 20 different senses and powers to go in him to make a pretty interesting set. Flash meanwhile has a single power, speed, but can use it in a variety of ways to make for an interesting power.

mutants are another case with this, in fact they might be easier to understand. take guys like Magneto, power of magnetism. at a base level you'd think 'oh okay, so he's good against metal?' but as ou delve further you get an interesting powerset that includes blood manipulation, energy control, lightning, wormholes, fire, shields, etc. a huge list of powers born all out of 'magnetism' which makes sense as it's one of the big forces of the universe and there's a LOT that can be done with it.


but in a fight? well, Supes in a fight boils down to strength/speed. flash is a speed issue (and gamefaqs flash resulted from a lot of that). Magneto gets you questions of "brain blood clot y/n" -> "Shields' durability." with everything else following thereafter. it's not that any of them can't have interesting matches, but all 3 are sure to get a lot of boring ones unless you pair 'em with the right opponent. they're interesting to write about, evolve, and think, but in VS topics? they're pretty bad.

<_<; a lot of eveny's problems are less to do with power (though there's some issues there it's not the biggest) and more to do with being a literal one trick pony with a "anything that is possible by her to do will be done instantly" skill that makes things entirely boring. rare exceptions have come up at least that may not make the matches with her boring, but that's... really not a good skill for this. one trick ponies suck, said so in the beginning man.

they... really, really aren't. the closest you get is something like 'the ninja,' where he'll deliver a quick and fatal blow, but this... doesn't even have to be that. this is more like lancer and gae bolg in that if it hits, it's fatal. difference is it's always active and not something stated and that it's luck dependant to how fatal it is. thing is then you add in the whole missing clause and just.... why?

6) MGX - part weird, part slice of life, part romance. not much supernatural goin' on which is nice, but just enough to make it weird and interesting. Urabe is an awesome character but she lets the lead get away with way, way too much. looking forward to the eventual S2 and maybe S3 if they go that far. it's an easy goin' show that's just simple to watch. nothin' wrong with that. 7.5/10

7) Amnesia - starts good, gets kinda dull in the middle, good end. great OP in this show and i like how it transitions itself from strange supernaturla to romance. they didn't do all the relationships well though and really made Kyrie just kinda... there over time, when it seemed like she should be more than that. i also have no idea what happened to blond Yuuko, she just... randomly came in before vanishing to do nothing. lame there, that. show was okay. enjoyable while it lasted, so hey. 7/10

8) Medeka Box - almost dropped it at the start but it got progressively better over time, especially with the cheap swimming babe, but then the show goes 'screw this FULL SHOUNEN NOW' and is awesome for those 3 or so eps. seriously was the most random transition this season and i couldn't help but love the cheese in it. well done, that. still, the first part hurts and that can't be forgiven! not sure if it's ongoing or getting a second season, later on (ditto for Jormungand), but since it's being rated: 7/10

9) Upotte - there are guns. there are girls. then there were guns that are girls. the premise: awesome. the fanservice: awesome. the comedy: hilarious, especially if you know a thing or two on guns. an M-16 being the covergirl of the school just makes sense because AMERICA F*** YEAH, but her being so inferior to others is true too. the way they made Sig to basically be "goddamn overpowered swiss guns" was something i enjoyed (and hated, because goddamn is she overpowered), but hey. the show was fun, got weird when it was serious at the end, but hey i can dig. mostly because seriously, it's guns as chicks. stock = underwear. caliber = size. type = grade. breast = weight relative to size (i think). hair = magazine. am i missing anything? good show if you want something wacky. if you don't, well, you should stay far, far away from this. 7/10

10) Nyaruko-san - s'okay. not that great and Nyaruko got way too much airtime, which i suppose is purposeful to make you get how annoying she can be. main character isn't that great, and i blame wind-trap boy's existence on him, which is absolutely terrible. i'm more of a fan of twintail otaku lesbian-turned-bi with fire powers, but Nyaruko's fine too (and she's better, character-wise, due to screentime really). still, i saw, i enjoyed a bit, good enough. 6/10

11) Sankarea - disappointing anime of the season. it starts promising, and the real life tie-in is nice. if you aren't getting it: man who eat a person's face only had weed found in him, drug-wise, while Rea eats a poisonous plant to maintains herself being normal. when she's not? well, the last time she did it she drew blood from the lead's face. me thinks there's something the author knows. anyway, 5/10.

well if we're rating stuff, i still need to finish some of this backlog. BUT:

1) Moretsu Pirates - from the beginning i knew i was gonna love this show, partially due to the OP (best this year and will be really hard to beat). Marika's an awesome lead character but as you get introduced to the rest of the cast they too end up being various shades of awesome. Kane is so badass he'll even look good in a speedo. Misa will extort you however necessary while being an awesome driver. Ririka will blast the hell out of you. cyborg dude will... well, be a cyborg and beat you senseless. pretty much everyone had something good about them (and i don't have to get into Chiaki being adorable) to the point where even the lesser characters got some good, solid screentime to be enjoyed. just loved the hell out of the show and currently my fave anime this year. the ending did a great job in wrapping things up while leaving the door open so you truly do get a full story told and they sure as hell didn't skimp on the climax. it's a 10/10 for me.

2) Fate/Zero - the two halves combined are friggin' amazing. the animation is superb, Rider is the most badass of kings (he's gone well beyond being measured as a man - even Gil agrees!), and the way both Waver and Kotomine evolved was fantastic. ep 23 was probably my favorite episode this year out of any anime so hell yes. anyway, well worth the watch so now it's to wait until the BDs come out and see what got cut out of the TV scenes. 9.5/10

3) Kimi to Boku 2 - best male character this season is Chizuru. best ED this season goes to this, which has a very Nodame feel to it. won't spoil which episode it was, but one of them blew me away when it happened and instantly made this show one of the top ones to see. it's awesome and a semi-serious slice of life/coming of age show done right. also, Kaname's mom top tier. 9.5/10

4) Zombie S2 - they really layed on the fanservice thick this season, especially with multiple Eu. really like that they increased the harem in a reasonable way to include MORE vampire ninjas and a token human, who he caves for at times even when it's against his health. Haruna's top tier this season and i must admit, the curse Chris has on her is one of the most horrible curses ever imagined. truly terrifying. now i just hope the harem grows to include Chris and the strongest manga artist ever. come on zombie magical girl, you can get them all. #Ayumu-All i guess we'll have to wait until the BDs to get more of our fill ala Zombie 1 did. 8.5/10

5) Jormungand - first time i see this show: HELL YES GUNS. show continues: HELL YES CRAZY PEOPLE. no panties girl: HELL YES CRAZY PEOPLE WITH GUNS. also badass old men. and Johan makes for a damn fine main character, the smartest sane guy of the group who isn't 50 (and a total badass). Koko's an adorable, evil little b**** of a main and i love it for that. Valmet meanwhile is.... something else. she's specifically fanservice bait but dear god the muscles on that woman. i understand why she took on a lot of the story from that point of view and it clearly was meant to be about her half the time, but still. animation was slick as hell though, and the little ditty has me jammin' every time the credits/car scene is played. HER NAME IS KOKO SHE IS LOKO AND I'M LIKE OH NO. do want. still, dig the animation, dig the characters and crazy antics (Scarecrow is particularly funny in that he gets owned every single time), and lookin' forward to this continuing. i love my guns and crazy people, and this show has tons of it. 8/10.

well yeah, Miz is absolutely amazing at making people over. but i don't think it'd work again with Kidd right now, especially if he's doing Marine 3. it doesn't do Cody any favors, i get that, but it'd be similar to Dragon/Sin Cara in the sense of Kidd could get over a bit. remember that losing streak dragon was on for a while before advancing into the ME, over coincidentally... winning a match against Kidd.

(3) I see people on youtube thinking Tyson Kidd's getting pushed, but really, I think they're just counting on him to be the MITB spot monkey this year.

it's both. Kidd is the spot monkey, but he's got a big win on SD and will be really, really good to see in MITB. people will want more of him and i can see them moving towards one of the midcard belts. i'd much prefer him holding the US Title over Santino right now. hell, Kidd vs. Christian could be good too but i don't see them moving the belt from Christian... nor do i know who he's feuding with.


could see a Kidd vs. Cody feud happen though. that'd give both something to do.

yeah, PC gets all the goodies. 4 weapons is a good number if you want to make a limit, 2 is just... restrictive. i mean you could always just force every weapon down if you wanted, but yeah.

PC version? yes.
console version? no.

consoles got a bad port, which is part of why a lot of bad reviews and complaints hit. on the PC you'll get maybe 3-5 seconds of loading times depending on your hardware, but on the consoles it was like 45 seconds at times. consoles got more glitches to 'em too and they didn't get the patches that PC did, which included stuff like raising the weapons limit from 2 to 4, which makes it reach a point where you can use whatever you want and be fine.

now now, nintendo's making strides in online. some is catch up, some is new stuff to consoles, but they still haven't figured out how many people want to be able to just have a single store with it all yet. or the tech for it. i'm honestly not sure what the hold up there is.

at least by the time the wii u competition launches maybe they'll be there too!

there's voice recognition in a couple games and they're working on voice commands in squad games, but the name just... probably never mattered a lot for many a game. doesn't help that we only recently hit a point where voiced games were a reality and it probably just hasn't had any reason to do it as there are easy workarounds ("Commander").

earlier on you saw the jet being in there and heard a thump. now newer ones showed up and... yeah.

remember his special ability - anything he touches becomes his NP. ergo...

Gil meanwhile is riding an ancient spaceship, more or less. moves and reacts to his thoughts at their speed. completely outclasses the berserker jet and he can fire those NPs at ridiculous speeds.
