Scott Stanford was all over it. Remember, they're from the days pre-ZTLIS. They said the name in a pre-match Superstars Promo, and Stanford kept using it well past when they broke up.

REALLY sweet ***1/4 Miz vs. Riley match on Superstars. I daresay that's the best match I've ever seen Miz call. Character psychology, body part psychology, lots of great little touches, just a couple slow spots hold it back from being a textbook ***1/2.

Could a Miz comeback be for real?

There was another Triple Header match at Backlash 2001, with Kane/Taker defending against WWE Champ Austin and IC Champ Triple H with all the belts on the line.

Also at Fully Loaded 1998, the main event was Kane and Mankind defending the Tag Titles against Austin and Undertaker.

And then the original Triple Header match at IYH3 with Yoko and Bulldog (subbing for Owen) defending against 2 Dudes with Attitudes.

Come to think of it, Tag Champs are 0-4 when they defend their belts in PPV main events.

A top WWE official ripped into Mr Fuji for about five minutes due to the way they didn’t sell the abdominal stretch from Kaitlyn and Ernest Miller. Mr Fuji was told that they are a piece of cheese who doesn’t respect the business and will never amount to anything in WWE

I'm assuming this list is from a kayfabe perspective? That's the only way I can think to justify some of these.

1. Only WWE teams were eligible. Meaning no Gangstas, no Sting & Lex Luger and no Mulkey Brothers (sorry, Matt Striker).

2. Teams were rated only on their accomplishments while in WWE, so the achievements of The Beverly Brothers in the AWA had no bearing on their placement (or lack thereof) here.

3. Eligibility began with the first recognized World Tag Team Champions, Luke Graham & Tarzan Tyler, who won the titles on June 3, 1971.

4. Rankings were based on everything from longevity to cultural impact. Personal biases may have also crept in, as witnessed by an extended argument over the significance of Tony Garea & Dean Ho.

One interesting comparison to make would be Legacy vs. WGTT.

Both teams had 2 reigns as Champions (actually WGTT wins in total time by a couple months), both teams were composed of two guys being groomed for later singles success which only panned out for one of them, and both teams served as flunkies for a main-event heel for a good portion of their time together.

What makes Legacy 5 spots better?

I can buy that. Longevity as a team, longer time spent as Champions, it kinda makes sense.

Plus they even main-evented a PPV as a tag team! A rare feat.

EDIT: Plus you gotta love their debut as a team. Cody Rhodes is still the only person I know of to officially win a title from himself.

Theory: One reason why FCW seems to produce so many good heels and so few good faces is, ironically, because Ricky Steamboat is the head trainer.

Maybe he's so natural at being a good face that he doesn't really know how to convey it effectively to up-and-coming talent, whereas of course he would be an expert in the ins-and-outs of how great heels work because he wrestled them constantly for 20 years.

I find it funny that Austin and DeMott are saying that they wish Andy the best and that they hope he uses this release as a chance to go elsewhere and get the experience he needs before making a serious run at WWE.

But I really can't help but just FEEL the undertones when Brock says stuff like "The only reason Cena was the face of WWE is because I was gone" when Rock left at the EXACT SAME PPV BROCK DID.

They are SO setting Rock up as the conquering hero here, and if his schedule allows him to even work a Brock schedule next year, it would be the greatest comeback in wrestling history outside of HBK.

I mean, Brock and Rock both leaving at WM XX, the same show where Cena broke through as a future star, and now 8 years later we have this triumvirate of guys essentially warring with each other meta-textually about who those 8 years rightfully belonged to...fictional truth is sometimes stranger than fictional fiction I guess.

As I was saying in the chat last night, while the execution was pretty bad, I do really like what they're attempting to do with Brock vs. Cena.

It's the total contrast to Rock vs. Cena, and intentionally so IMO.

It's debatable whether or not they NEED these tangible Brock demands in order to sell the idea of there being a legitimate difference whether Cena is the Face of WWE or Brock, but I do think it helps drive the point home.

Brock Lesnar is basically everything Cena (in the end wrongly) accused Rock of being, but hyper-ized. There's no facade. There's no illusion. He's here for the fame and fortune, and nothing else.

Cena, for his part, actually is making his inability to emote work. The loss to Rock actually rattled his foundation, and now he's stuck in some sort of weird limbo trying to find his identity. It's like his body is just coasting while his mind struggles for the answer. His response to Edge's promo last night was perfect in its impotence, as was his feeble attempt at "waking up" by coming to the ring with a chain but being otherwise timid. A cosmetic change isn't what Edge was talking about, and the chain was clearly not an effective placebo. He's still so lost, and at the worst possible time.

This is all setting up Rock's return really well, to fully vindicate himself and debunk all of Cena's allegations by dethroning this avaricious beast and taking the mantle Cena has failed to claim, the mantle that was always rightfully Rock's.

At Extreme Rules the Steward of WWE will fall, and within the next year we will see the Return of the King.
