You'd think that, after solving a dozen cases they'd realize that ghosts and monsters don't exist and thus would never get scared by them

Not to mention that "dressing up as a ghost/monster" seems to be an absurdly popular tactic by criminals...

The Golden Rule is basically "Do good unto others" while the Silver Rule is "Don't do harm to others"

This is why Confucius came up with what is often referred to as "The Silver Rule":

Do NOT do unto others that which you would NOT want done unto you.

i.e. not everyone likes being treated the same way as you, so the "do unto others" has its flaws

The one that most people sack off which makes the game take much, much longer is auctions.

The auctions themselves are kinda tedious, but they actually speed up the game because the properties get sold quicker

Yeah, but people don't like losing so that's why you got the "Free Parking money" shit, which yes makes the game go on forever since nobody goes bankrupt

Well that, and nobody ever wants to trade/sell their properties, and nobody ever does auctions when they don't want/can't afford to buy the property they landed on

This is what I reference when I say Breath of the Wild and Tears of the Kingdom were very much needed in changing the LoZ formula. A lot of people complain it doesn't "feel" like a Zelda game because of lack of linearity and Dungeon puzzles, but I say that the old Zelda formula was starting to get real stale. I had a similar experience, barely getting anywhere in Twilight Princess and skipping Skyward Sword, nor did I play whatever it was that came out on 3DS.

BotW really was a breath of fresh air that gave new life to a increasingly stale franchise.

Perhaps no other Zelda game has reminded me of the original LoZ like BotW did, what with the completely open world and sense of exploration.

The dungeons are kinda lacking, though. The Shrines are a neat concept but those got stale pretty quick and there's way too many of them. Oh well.
