joined an online league with 32 players, $20 buy in each season. the season concluded this week.

won my division - $20
won the division series - $20
won the championship series - $20
won the world series - $30

also might win a couple other bucks from awards and such like mvp, etc.

glad the rng was in my favor for the playoffs

both are incredibly overrated

maxxxine is the third movie in the x trilogy, along with x and pearl. stars mia goth and elizabeth debicki - maximum hotness dude. x was fine, pearl was horrible, and i haven't read anything good about maxxxine. going to have to pass.

longlegs is one of those movies that sxsw and angelenos hype up as super disturbing bc neon has a good marketing team. they only let letterboxd influencers who are know-nothings about cinema see the movie early. claiming they shit their pants and had to do hail marys cuz it was so frightening. and then normal people with taste see it and think its mid or bad. don't really want to make the time for it.

trying to see less shitty contemporary movies just so i can be part of the cultural conversation.

i hope you all understand. i know you were waiting to hear my thoughts on both titles.

TBH I can't tell the difference between streaming in 4K and a UHD disc. Except you can never resell digital without giving up your whole account.

4k streaming has a lower bitrate than even a normal bluray

yeah ive played tlou1 i just dont like it that much. i mean it was fine. but tlou2 poopoos on it. i've enjoyed the ratchet games. also beat asylum and city back on the ps3. got knight but havent tried it yet.

games i really like:

titanfall 2, the last of us 2, uncharted series, outer wilds, the witness, yakuza 0, portal, sly cooper, super mario 64, tetris, rocket league, helldivers 2, hell let loose, out of the park baseball, splinter cell chaos theory

i guess i have a tendency to enjoy AAA 'movie games' as people call them (very stupid term i think). so i could try picking up god of war again. or do control. i am not a huge fan of giant open worlds, skill trees, and crafting so the less of that the better. i like open worlds if they are a bit more confined (spider-man, yakuza 0, shadow of the colossus) tho and crafting is fine if there is some kind of sitrct resource management involved (like last of us or dying light or something). i do like some puzzle stuff, with outer wilds being my fav game maybe ever? for shooters i like fast movement and have been rec'd prey or metro or wolfenstein (also enjoyed doom but kinda wore out its welcome). i really like stealth but ive never played the mgs series and refuse to play phantom pain until ive played the others. hitman is fun but i just suck at it. may need to retry. also a big fan of mascot platformers but i guess those are dead now.

just a heads up to anyone who missed his post - he has to use instacart to get publix delivered to his home even tho it is only a 5 minute walk away. because it wasnt bagged properly i guess. also because of bad weather. oh no i gotta walk in rain for 5 mins while lugging groceries around so obviously city life is overrated. LMAO. afraid of getting a little wet or having to awkwardly hold shit with an umbrella. jesus dude. talk about first world problems. i wish my issues were this easy to deal with.

i live in nyc.

my commute is like 20 mins on train including walking to the station and to work. my job covers an annual metro pass. in a car its 30 mins and also costs $30. alternatively i could own a car (lol) and pay absurd amounts for parking and gas and insurance.

i also have various department stores, shops, malls, restaurants, groceries, movie theaters, parks, etc within 5-20 mins of walking. and like 6 train lines within 10-15 mins instead of just the one i take to work so i can get around to diff areas of the city p quick.

this is why nyc is the goat american city.

nope. several silent movies shot on color film, albeit not generally for the entire runtime. and not the same as tinting in post, which was seen in many silent movies.

furthermore color movies had been made in two trip technicolor throughout the 30s before three strip really took off with a star is born in 1937, two years before wizard of oz and gone with the wind.
