KH 1 is not crazy with endgame stuff. I did Kurt Ziza , Phantom, and other stuff as a teen (original ps2 version). Seph was pretty hard but not impossible.

E33 plays great, looks great, is definitely written better and has better characters. The only thing 16 has over it is graphics, and it isnt really that E33 looks bad, it just doesnt have as many particles flying around

I think the game expects you to be in the mindset of a DnD character build. Focuses on a few attributes. The game wants you to come in knowing what weapons you want to focus on.

A good game would give you all weapon types early. A bad one will introduce new ones later, when you have already been using another.

it depends on what you're after.

If you want a good story with lots of spectacle moments, it's got that. Probably the best of modern FF (aside from some parts of 14).

If you want party management or turn based stuff it's very decidedly Not That.

As a spectacle-fighter it's good. It's not *quite* DMC but it's not really trying to be and does what it's trying to do well enough.

the pacing kind of falls apart in the back third of the game though, even worse than most FFs that go "you have the airship now we're accelerating the plot to nonsense speed"

Yeah unfortunately the story decides to slam on the brakes A LOT. Definitely for padding.

I do not believe any of the models currently in use have the potential to be "A higher intelligence", nor would any improvement thereof result in one (particularly the improvements the companies are doing, which are intended to drive engagement above all else)

Some of these guys actually have a belief that they are creating a literal god. They are really paranoid types of people and worry that if they dont and someone else does, it will become benevolent and will send them to a cyber hell or something dumb. Im not making this up. True, the story (the main story, not the weak sidequests) is great. Simple, but says a lot and shows a lot too. Well, except for all the stuff that happens off screen and is only told in dumb map info dumps, but eh.

I actually even like the villain. Simple motivation, he does some pretty devious stuff, gets the upper hand most of the game, is incredibly intimidating at times, and has an ick factor that none of the other FF villains did.

Dont forget how they banned that one episode where Ash caught a bunch of Tauros and then the next episode showed Ash calling Oak and seeing all of them. And I was all like huh did i miss an episode

Poyrgon has such huge lore implications and we will never get to explore it because of this. It sucks
