Ultima (ff16) created a race of people, fell asleep, realized they were kind of not what he wanted anymore, killed them, did it again. He then took on the guise of a small child and manipulated his mother/queeninto starting wars.

Old games that had simple concepts, but were very complex and deep when mastered.

For example, X-Multiply. It was a sort of spinoff of R-Type. Same basic gameplay, except instead if the pod, you have two tentacles. They can be wrapped around your ship as a shield, and you control the tentacles with your momentum. It is weirdly deep and complex for such an old game, and parts of the game practically demand that you shield yourself and take a defensive stance against tons of undodgeable bullets.

The game is really simple otherwise, but the tentacles add another layer to the game.

Two completely different games.

One hardly works without updates and mods. Has an open world but nothing to really do in it besides talk to more generic people about stuff nobody cares about.

The other has you struggling to find some goal, getting stronger, and trying to find ways to die less. The game works on a base level too, and doesnt look like barf.

Yeah, movie is a good second date. You wanna do something where you can communicate and see what you guys can do. Not sit in a room and pay attention to something else.

The ending is one of the best.

It wasnt afraid to punish the main character, even after he was becoming a better person. Also, the last scene with Bojack and Diane. That was a gut punch, but a deserved one.

Really good show that says being a better person means you actually have to do better, not just say it.

Sega Saturn was done out of pure spite. It ruined a legendary company and changed the console war direction forever.

Also SNKs history is pretty embarrassing too.

I feel like 3 was pretty popular in Japan. It always gets referenced. Same with 2, for some reason.

I think it just wasnt released in the west because the SNES was out at that point and people wanted new stuff.

PR. It is simple, looks great, and moves quickly. It also doesnt have that dumb problems of the 3d one where bosses are ultra buffed and no save points in dungeons.

If you ever do play the 3 D one, make sure it is on Steam, or the PSP version. It fixed a lot of big issues from the DS version.

Its cute, creepy, and it doesnt hold your hand. It controls very well, and some of the pixel effects are gorgeous, as are the sound effects.

Its a metroidvania which. I dont know if it does anything really unique, but its fun.

Ff16 had the most boring ye olde euro setting ive ever seen. Peasants in rags, old grey towns and castles, swampy bogs. Oh, and my second least favorite trope. Boring vaguely-arabian desert town with people in turbans and replace grey with brown.

That game has really bad cinematography in general.

It came out when Tales games were very very bad.

Its way better than they are. Its decent. Combat is shallow. Characters are likable. Its anime. Take that as you will.

I feel like a lot of people tend to forget is Kunio Kun (what would become the River City Ransom series) precedes it, and Double Dragon was the spin-off of the series.

Kunio-kun has had a huge revival recently though.

They are so different from eachother though, aside from the janky controls in the nes games.

Its really confusing at first, but once it clicks, its really a good score attack game.

I think there is still a place for it. It focuses on multiplayer, and i feel the theme of Neon and the parody angle fits it perfectly..

It had like, 2 good games. Then a TON of really bad ports, remakes, or weirdo sequels. Battletoads crossover was good. Apparently there is a good remake on some obscure Brazilian console called the Zeeobo. I actually love DD Neon. DD Advance is good too.

Considering how influential and huge this series was, its weird how bad it was for most of its life.

It was good. It loses a lot of impact in reruns because they cant play the music videos.
