My favorite scene was when Xenk, the paladin, leaves and just walks in a straight line. And what makes it even better was that it wasn't scripted. Xenk was just supposed to leave, but they kept the camera rolling to see what he'd do about the rock in his way. Chris Pine's reaction to that was genuine lol.

So did your girlfriend point out to you that Xenk is the perfect character that DM's love to add to a party? Their beloved NPC self-insert that has perfect stats and never fails a roll.

I'll admit I have a bias against them because I dislike what it did to what used to be one of my favorite LP channels. A few years ago, he made a video coming out as a furry. Fine, whatever. But ever since it seems like instead of being an LP channel that happens to be run by a furry, its a furry who happens to have an LP channel. It feels like most of the videos he puts out now are gay furry visual novels. Even the Elden Ring co-op videos he put out recently have thumbnails that are just shirtless Blaidd in typical sexy man pose.

Those complaints will swiftly go away, once you get your Scadutree Blessing levels up it becomes much more manageable as people are finding out. Don't even have to keep leveling normally, I got mine up to level 6 and it made a world of difference with my 150 character. I think you can get 10 or so levels without ever fighting a single boss.

I went in at 180 and felt like I was getting my ass handed to me. Once I got the blessing to +3, the difficulty felt in line with what I was expecting it to be. Wasn't stomping all over the enemies but I wasn't getting killed in 5 seconds either.

If you want a restaurant analogy, I would compare it to Raising Cane's. They sell chicken fingers, chicken fingers on a bun, and fries. Some of you all sound like you would show up there and demand a burger with onion rings. It's not what they offer and they see no reason to change the menu from what currently works.

Also the person who claims it wouldn't be easy to implement? Sure it would, just tweak damage values and maybe make it so you don't lose accumulated "currency" to to level up when you die. Super fucking easy.

Guess what? You can already affect damage values by upgrading your weapons to do more, or wearing heavier armor to take less. There are also items that prevent currency loss on death. No easy mode adjustment needed.

Ah snap, totally didnt know they added a npc for the player to invade for this quest at some point.

The PS5 did eventually download the patch, but I rather just fight this npc real quick instead.

Best part is the loot you get from him. Can dual wield Great Stars greatclub without needing to go NG+ or have somebody drop it for you.

Someone done goofed with the PS5 version. The patch never became available to download and thus can't log back online. (I wanted to do that viarre quest to get up in mohg's palace early since my character was on a new game plus run. Can't do that right now because no patch, lol).

You can do his quest offline. think you just need access to Altus Plateau and you invade an NPC's world.

Perfumer Tricia was my default for the longest time. Attack bonus and bubble shield for my lazy ass that doesn't use consumables. Any damage she did was just extra.

Yes, yes I am. If somebody is struggling and genuinely looking for help, they will be given solid advice. If somebody is struggling and suggests the game is to blame, they are rightfully told to git gud.

Example A: I keep running out of stamina. Any advice? Sure, here's equipment to speed recovery. Let go of block so it recovers faster. Don't let it all run out.

Example B: I keep running out of stamina. Game should get rid of the bar and play like Devil May Cry. Git Gud.

Anyway, there is a point where I stop enjoying a game if I try to do everything possible, especially when massive.

I get it. Went through about 8 weapon phases (scythes, spears, greatswords, great clubs then dual wielding them) and regularly changed up my fashion to keep things fresh. If I try to lock in on a specific build everything starts feeling the same after awhile and I just want to get to the end.

Was fun in the beginning. But when it felt like everybody just kept using the same 5 characters, it got old real fast. At my arcade, it was always some combination of Sentinel/Cable/Magneto/Cyclops/Doom.

Rookie numbers. Think I was level 180 with 170 hours in my first playthrough. I scoured everything and didn't even commit albunaric genocide for those levels.

So you're mad that you had 15 years to pick up a game, but had no interest until it was rereleased at full price.

When you have something in a menu highlighted with a "new" indicator, don't make the indicator disappear until I scroll away, not immediately on highlighting.

OTOH, give me an option to "mark all as seen" or whatever.

As somebody who started with the red box in the early 80's and played fairly regularly for the next 20 years, the movie reminded me so much of all the good times I had. So many small things felt accurate to my memory of play sessions.

The brief cameo of the characters from the cartoon got a huge smile out of me as well.

There is merit to the idea. Quicksave anywhere sounds great, until they softlock themselves because they keep quicksaving over the same slot. Or the easy mode they beg for allows them to steamroll over enemies, until they get to one that requires some sort of tactics or mechanics they never bothered to learn.

Related to dialogue. Person A starts giving explanation to Person B, then get in a car. Conversation picks up without missing a beat when they get out of the car.

When I worked at a theatre, my poor attitude (didn't put on a happy face when no guests were around) got me punished. The punishment was being taught the projection booth and having to be alone up there and not on the floor with the public. They would let me work on the floor if my attitude approved. Never worked the floor again for the next 6 years until the location got bought by another chain.
