Used to not start getting tired until about 4am anyway, so it wasn't too rough to adjust to overnights. Did it for about 4 years around 2000, then like 16 years in a theatre (wasn't overnight, but shift normally lasted until around 2am), and closing in around 4 years overnight again at my current job.

I've come to expect that the newer FF games just aren't made for people like me. Fell in love with FF6 when I played it in the 90's in college, FF7 was a one and done for me, 8/9/X were multiple playthroughs. Spent about 10 years playing 11. 12 and 13 I just lost interest in about 3/4 of the way through because the story didn't grab me and didn't like the battle system. Tried 14 but it wasn't like 11 so that was a no go. Decided to cut my losses and not waste any more money on a franchise that has changed too much from what made me enjoy it. --- The ball is round, the game lasts 90 minutes. That's fact. Then I found a PS2 version of FFXI for $20 at Toys R Us in the summer of '07. Mained BLU and finally got it as my first job to 75 several months later after Wings of the Goddess came out. Followed by other 75 jobs of BST, DRK, and RNG over the next several years. Did the 3 nations stories and the Zilart expansion. Got stuck partway through CoP for the longest time until the first level cap increase to 80 when me a few linkshell friends were able to go through it with less than a full party. Finally started losing interest around 2019 when I got a new job and had to adjust to working overnights again. According to my FFXIAH history, September '19 is when I last played. There's nothing wrong with schools spending money on sport.Then why was it in my high school, football players were allowed to skip class because of sports. Game starts an hour earlier than normal, they got to skip the last two periods. Game runs an hour later than normal, they got to skip the first two classes the next day. Can't forget about the pep rallies when they cancelled classes for everybody so they could cheer the only students that mattered. And I say mattered, because those kinds of things were reserved strictly for football and girls basketball. Had a friend on the wrestling team, and they often had out of state matches. They didn't get back until 2 or 3 am, but were required to be in school at first period. Our academic team did well, but they also got no special treatment and no pep rallies for them. At best, a quick announcement that they were heading to state. Maybe it's changed, but in my personal experience, my school cared about sports and said fuck you to everybody else, especially the art kids. Yearbook used to have like 8 pages dedicated for writing and art from students.
