Im not saying we should ignore climate change, but at this point theres not much we can do to stop it. Absolutely we should try to soften the impact, but we should also be trying to create our successors in the event that we cant prevent extinction.

I think that civilization is better than no civilization. Even if its robots instead of humans. And I think humanity needs to be remembered, not forgotten. The point of this is to ensure intelligent life continues in some form. Isnt a society of robots better than a lifeless rock?

And whats the point of posting warnings if theres no one around to read them? Its extremely unlikely that aliens will ever reach earth, and even if they did, by that point I doubt theyd have anything to learn from our warnings.
I think that's a bias of the human condition. I don't think there's an innate virtue to civilization existing solely to exist. As with all things that are, it will one day just... Not. A lifeless rock with robots is the same as just a lifeless rock. If that's where civilization goes do be it, but I don't think we or our creations are more entitled to existence than any of the numerous things we've ended.

It was a was to make a point. Why make a "living" monument to our failure, when one encompassing it will suffice?

So, if humans showed up and ruined a planet to the point life can't survive, you honestly think our achievements are actually worth saving?

I mean in the grand scope of things we have done exactly jack shit tbh. We've ruined every possibility of being truly great in the name of profit. A few monolithic tablets with warnings accomplishes that better than robots.

It should be mathematically impossible, since you can make it so with a single line of code. If it isn't, you need to fire your entire software department.
Honestly having only three people working for something would vastly decrease the likelihood of this happening. More often than not it's an employee on the way out or who feels like they aren't getting what they deserve that essentially allows these people in to these systems, rather than movie style "hackerman" moments.

Or a dumbass who ignores security training and goes "lmao some idiot left this flash drive at Starbucks imma see what's on it" on their Workstation.

I love how even AI can see that it's a useful tool to help with these problems and is basically just being used to fund more jet-trips to promote the product essentially. Shit is sad.

That said, I remember my childhood to today quite well. Always loved the weather, I loved rain especially... These days it's seldom just rain, where I am--it's always horrific storms, wind, and lightning, so I'm relegated to being inside to watch. Makes me sad.

Even though I don't particularly have a use for it, they're selling it like it's the understanding of fire 2.0 and... it may have such an impact some day pending on how much advances(or if, profit seeking is a bitch), but for now? It's basically a little ahead of every other "rise of the chatbot" before it, except they actually found practical and useful applications for it instead of trying to force it to be a thing it just isn't ready to be...

And then they forced it to be things it isn't ready to be. Again.

I thought I had some bad views on AI... Guys, it's just a tool. There's no actual intelligence behind it, no maliciousness, nothing. It's really bad for the environment would be an objective bad of it for now I suppose.

It's no more a tool to subjugate the masses than Amazon or Walmart existing. AI is not the reason the world is in the state it is now, that's a purely human problem--if anything AI was a distraction as we allowed these things to happen.

I don't care for the rollout and think we should've had some legislature in place, but governments haven't even caught up to the fucking Internet yet so that realistically was never happening.

5. that doesn't require ai, and everything was better without ai algorithms controlling the feed. literally everything.
Though I don't care for AI, it is fantastic for translation purposes(not without flaws but still great), and has automated paperwork from having to understand the arcane lore of how Excel works properly to telling it what to do in basic English; although people will look at you like you've pulled modern day witchcraft for actually knowing Excel these days.

I know what AI is good for, and not--using a tool without knowing it's purpose is fools work after all. My problem is expectation: When I use a tool it should be able to do its job as described, perfectly. AI has yet to meet that standard. It's more or less a personal issue. For my personal life it's just another layer of things I need to verify. For my professional life, AI is simply just... Not useful for it as it stands, and what it offers is a barely discernible difference in the standard tools available(I do home renovation, plumbing, electrical work, etc) at a higher cost, usually.

I live a life where AI is largely useless to me, is all.

I just don't find it helpful, personally. Aside from the most basic of tasks it needs an impressive level of babysitting. But I'm the kind of person that expects my tasks to be done correctly the first time, having to go back and verify is just a layer of work I don't need.
