But that's because the house I'm renting with friends is going to be sold later this year and also because with my dad having passed at the end of the last year, I'm moving in to help my mom and so she's not alone... It also just happens the free rooms are in the basement...

My condolences for your loss.

I've never even been in a basement. But I've seen em on TV! They're usually haunted and filled with bugs, so they're clearly something to avoid.

If anything, legal weed is less likely to have that effect due to it actually being a regulated substance. Especially for people that are just walking in, usually wanting to try something simple. People being able to enjoy it without developing a physical addiction, even if they make up the vast majority, don't render a substance non-addictive either mentally or physically.

Your body grows dependent on something you have been introducing into it for a long period of time. Having to quit cold turkey can at the very least make you cranky, and at worst can severely impact your health for a while before all the toxins are eventually cleaned out of your system.

Not unless you're adding something extra in that is addictive. I've known plenty of people who smoked it myself included, and not felt the physical symptoms of chemical dependency or withdrawals. Though they may be very mild. I can't speak about the newer legal marijuana. Perhaps there is something in that stuff that is?

It really helps the message stick in young, impressionable minds when you can hear a firsthand account of someone who lived through something so unimaginably horrible. Like I said earlier, it's not a guarantee that it'll stick with everyone, but being able to hear and empathize with these stories puts the message on a different level than memorizing a list of facts out of a history book.

While there are a multitude of other factors at play here, I really don't think it's a coincidence that Holocaust denial and fascism in general are taking a sudden uptick right around the same time that the few living Holocaust survivors are getting too old to visit schools. Sometimes it feels like those fascist fucks were just biding their time until they all died off.

Your explanation doesn't make a lick of sense. There are lots of things people are never going to experience with their own eyes outside of television and pictures, but know they exist. And you simply cannot expect people to only believe in history unless they've talked to it.

I suppose nowadays that is true. We did learn both world history, current events and our own history. Some states keep trying to worsen the education standards for some reason. Why? I don't really understand it.
