Is there pro-Israeli social media (I guess that Trump Truth thing, never looked at it)? The only major country it the world that even has a positive opinion of Israel now is the US, and even then it's at a historic low.

We really need to shift the discourse here. It isn't being banned. That's not what is happening. It's being forcibly sold to an American company. So you guys keep arguing over whether or not social media should be banned when the entire point of this is to give a US company, and therefore the government, that data instead of a Chinese company, and therefore the Chinese government. If you live in a country that doesn't ban social media that is neither America nor China then the whole thing looks extra ridiculous because all your data always goes to other countries.

It doesn't ban TikTok, it requires them to sell it to a US investor, which they will. And then the US will get access to all the private data instead of China which is the actual goal here.

We have a Chinese friend who doesn't even know Japanese yet and is getting an interview with Amazon Japan as a programmer. So depending on your abilities you might be fine either way. My wife programmed for Nittetsu and now JA, but she needed Japanese for both (though she also worked at the Wuhan branch of Nittetsu when she was stuck there during the lockdown). I think Nittetsu is a really good company though. If you're a programmer you will also be able to get a pretty nice visa and after 5 years can apply for permanent residency.

My wife is a programmer in Japan. If you know Japanese it is super easy to get a job. Massive shortage of programmers.

Just be aware some phones in the US have really weird network frequency bandwidths that make them unable to use Japanese SIM cards. I had a phone that was unusable after moving here.

I don't know what school you went to, but our public school had sports and textbooks but it didn't matter worth shit because the teachers were more concerned with sleeping with students or playing games on their computer than educating. I didn't learn shit until I got to college and that was a huge catch-up experience because despite taking classes called calculus, I never actually learned calculus.

The only one ahead on there is Luxembourg. It's one of the richest countries in the world per Capita and a microstate. Almost every person there would be considered upper-middle class at worst. You can't really compare. The US has terrible education because the standards are set by individual states and often based on agricultural past that no longer exists and a bunch of culture war stuff then occurs where a state is more concerned with banning "woke" than ensuring kids can read or do basic math.

US actually spends more per pupil than any other first world country but ends up with below average scores on international tests. More money won't fix the issue, because they aren't actually concerned with quality education. And the fact that this topic implies the TC thinks the government has to pay for spending and therefore must raise taxes shows how bad the education is (the government doesn't pay for even close to all of its spending, it takes out debt, as does every other first world country).

Nagoya has a cool Eiffel Tower replica area now. And my favorite Chinese restaurant in Japan. Also a Studio Ghibli Park:

If you understand the general technique used to find words (using the words with the most frequently occuring letter and than isolating the position of them) it's just a matter of knowing words try.

For instance rates is a very good first guess word. A lot of words end in s (and it's one of the most common letters). R and t are among the most common consonants. And A and E are among the most common vowels.

For your next word try incorporating N, O, I, H, and/or L along with letters you confirmed the presence of before (if they were in the wrong position, try a new one for them). These are the most common letters, so by this point you should have some of the complete word established and it's just a matter of knowing potential words.

Russia literally cannot exapnd the conflict to other European countries, they're having more than enough trouble as it is.

They obviously won't immediately attack just like how there was a huge gap between annexing Crimea and then invading the rest of Ukraine. They also will start with Moldova since it has a large, pro-Russia separatist movement with Russian troops there already, and Moldova itself has a weak military and no formal allies. After that they will target Russian speaking minorities in the Baltics and try to create a situation similar to what Ukraine had before and work on continuing to get NATO dismantled and weakened through friendly Western politicians like Trump and the various Russia friendly parties throughout Europe.

The original webnovel and webtoon are Korean. The anime is actually made by a Japanese company with Japanese director and key staff. Though basically every modern Japanese animation company has a lot of Koreans working for them (and Korean directors now too like in Jujutsu Kaisen).

Persona 1 is alright if you like DRPGs (which I do). Persona 2 is great though.

Not really. If you want some manga that covers that stuff I recommend Showa, a History of Japan and Barefoot Gen. Though historical revisionist nationalists hate them for precisely those reasons.

Cyberpunk on Netflix by Trigger is kind of a 1980s anime (since the original setting is from a 1980s cyberpunk RPG).

Animation has become worse, not better.

That goes for the art of film in general. The silent era.... thousands and thousands of extras, ENOURMOUS sets that still go unrivaled, and insane stunts...... There's been some great films after the 1920s, but to be honest none go as far as they did in that early era.

Now, these early anime studios you're talking about (well, earlier) , and these old film studios I'm talking about..... the working conditions were much harder. Those anime studios were sweatshops..... no ac, endless hours hunched over, years of back problems and arthritis...... The old films.... someone gets seriously hurt or mamed in a stunt, or gets trampled by the crowd in one of the old epics from the 1910s...... you didnt get an insurance policy that would cover you to not work for a year.

But the art.... the art was much better. It seems there is something to say about creation under pressure.

We won't get either of these again, so it's best to cherish the ones we have. The ones people broke their backs and died for.

I mean we got 100% hand drawn Red Line in 2009. 7 years, 100,000 cells. Ghibli just put out a hand drawn film, and Trigger continues to put out amazing hand drawn stuff (though with CG used as well).

Grave of the Fireflies was released as a double feature with My Neighbor Totoro. You're supposed to watch that after and feel better.

But yeah Akira is the GOAT.

In Japan they socially ostracize you and send you to jail. Drug usage is extremely low, but the penalties are extremely harsh and not what you would consider "help".

Sometime in the early 90s. There was a short lived dub of the first season of Dragon Ball by Harmony Gold (the same shit company that turned Macross into Robotech). Later I wanted to see more and also play Dragon Quest V (not released in the US), so I started learning Japanese. Toriyama literally changed my life since I now live and work in Japan and never would have learned Japanese without Dragon Ball and Dragon Quest.

Watching NHK News tonight they showed the sign language news announcement of his death and I found out the Japanese sign language sign for Dragon Ball is doing a Kamehameha motion.

India is long-time geopolitical allies with Russia and they can travel there easily. China is India's 2nd largest geopolitical enemy after Pakistan (who is also allies with China) and they cannot travel there easily. Indians have a very positive opinion of Russia and Russians and a very negative opinion of China and Chinese. Also despite the current narrative being pushed by America, India is no friend of liberal democracy and more than happy to do stuff like assassinate Canadian citizens. Modi used to be sanctioned by the US for overseeing the mass killings of thousands of Muslims. Now that he's president they pretend it never happened and focus on China's treatment of Muslims. It's amazing how India is just the new China for America. Ignore all the bad and pretend they're your friends so you can exploit them for cheap labor.

It was okay, then it was followed up by a bad sequel that then got followed up by the absolute worst film in the franchise.
