Isn't it too early to be talking about Sozin's comet. Wouldn't that be a season two or three thing.

Because the actors age and grow and the show will taken years to finish they can't have the show take place just in a few months, in universe. So there really is less reason to rush Aang's training. A smart thing to do would to end a season at a stop where Aang can realistically have trained off screen for an extended period of time to account for the actors aging.

So taking away or pushing back the looming threat that forces the story to rush forward isn't a bad thing.

I thought I explained it well, but the reason I wasn't upset over Sokka having that removed was that it wasn't really that key to his development. It was a short-staying thing where he was proven wrong in short order and it kind of stays gone. The most it does is imply the Water Tribes might be patriarchal in general.

Based on what your saying we shouldn't have obstacles in fiction at all. The argument here isn't that I like the sexism of the Northern Water Tribe, it's that it was written as an obstacle to overcome, as a flaw of that Water Tribe, and we follow Katara triumphantly overcoming the men who view her as inferior. It's a good element of the story in a bunch of ways, why remove that? Why make it less interesting? Is overcoming gender bias a dated concept?

Conflict is always good and always there. Assuming they are removing all conflict is just silly.

Hopefully they don't mean tone wise. Making Avatar the Last Airbender an M rated show would be a huge mistake.

That said I will never dismiss a show before I watch it. Last time I did that the show in question ended up being my favorite show of 2023.

Overcoming his sexism isn't even Sokka's main or only character arc. It was a small part of the character. Yet now people are pretending its his defining characteristic that without he would be a hollow show of hos former self. Sorry it feels like people are reaching for anything to complain about and because they have nothing substantial they grabbed what ever tiny change they could find and blew it up to being huge.

People need to stop being so nitpicky. You can make some character changes and still get the core of the characters correct. Look at live action One Piece. You can strike a balance.

It seems that people wanted to find a reason to hate the live action avatar so badly they take a small change they heard about and thong a whole character is now completely derailed and be boring and "without flaws" because of it.

Drama queens. Maybe the show will suck, maybe it will be good. How about we watch it first. My favorite show of 2023 was one I knew would suck up to the moment it aired. My experience with LA One Piece has taught me to never judge something before it airs, never dismiss something before actually giving it a fair chance. Always have hope they will get it right, thia time.

Yes it is. Something tells me this show is going to have a higher rating then the TV show which was Y7 and really couldn't get away with much. It had to be creative and was better for it.

That's why it's a dream. Otherwise it would be called the American Reality.

I would say watch Star Trek 3 as 2-4 are a loose trilogy. While 4 does stand on its own for the most part skipping three would make some things confusing.
