Heero's hilarious. He's simultaneously the worst example of an anime protagonist, but he's still somewhat cool.

Maybe it's just his design I'm appreciating.

"He's antisocial, thinks he's Evel Knievel, and hardly talks"

I'm pretty detail-oriented so I don't think that will be an issue. I love movies and shows like that.

It turns out what I watched earlier wasn't the first episode at all. It was the episode where all of the Earth Alliance leaders are assassinated.

I inadvertently watched what I believe to be the first episode thanks to a random Youtube video and got pretty hooked, fast. Mechs and robots never did anything for me for the longest time(I couldn't really get into Transformers for the same reason) and honestly, even as a teenager I think this show would've went way over my head; and I was maybe ~7-8 years old when it was on the air.

But so many years later with a fresh pair of eyes and I'm pretty excited. Hope this goes well.

I played an Early Access version of this and it felt kind of jank.

It's definitely interesting though and CLEARLY takes influence from Dark Souls in its gameplay. I might revisit it, because the world does seem cool.

Oblivion Remastered is Oblivion. The makeover seems very impressive while you're still in the first dungeon, but as soon as you get to the imperial city, characters are as ugly as ever. The world itself is nice and beautiful, but so was the original game and the performance of the remake leaves a lot to be desired.

I've played a bit of E33 and it's pretty impressive. The production value is off the charts for the size of the team that made it.

Outside of the Dodge/Parry mechanics, it's kind of a standard "linear" party-based JRPG. It's not entirely linear, but maps are structured as the typical narrow corridors.

It seems interesting, but maaan is it depressing. It's one of those games/movies with a persistently somber atmosphere and that's just hard for me to trek through for an extended period of time.

I ended up reading a spoilery interpretation of the entire story and was satisfied.

I can't stand his movies. Awful pacing with a lot of meaningless bullshit and the few action scenes generally aren't that exciting.

That said, I liked the Hateful Eight and I've never seen Kill Bill or Once Upon a Time in Hollywood.

Django Unchained was okay and I have yet to see Jackie Brown, either.

Much prefer Robert Rodriguez's stutf.

I've noticed that "Soulslike" is a common tag that store pages use nowadays, whether it's applicable or not, because they can market that to the gaming audience at large. Makes sense, since the genre straight up killed character action games and hijacked the overall action genre for the longest freaking time.

Like the leveling system being borked for example.
I love the leveling system. Feels like you're actually growing as a character.

In any case, the leaked screenshots made it look like they killed the color palette which is one of the bigger reasons I preferred Oblivion to Skyrim. The screenshots on the store page don't look too bad, but I guess I'll have to see for myself.

I didn't know what else to call them. It's not like I use them in my daily life. I just need to drain an infection.

I spent probably a good hour or so trying to figure out what they were called before I made the thread. I always thought "safety pin" was more broad and covered a variety of pin types, so that never would've come to mind.

I actually just finished exploring the entire map(at least, every corner of each island) last week. And yeah, for a LONG time I struggled with making any significant progress on the Japanese island and on Feybreak, it was literally just a matter of survival and quickly trying to find the closest fast travel tower so I can get the fuck out of there. I'm at a point where the Japanese island is rather easy(except for the sword baddies, those can still be rather deadly) and I can capture pretty much everything on Feybreak, but the latter is still pretty tough, as far as just staying alive goes.

I love how you have your bases set up like a little village. That's really nice looking. I just keep getting carried away and building bigger and bigger structures/fortresses lol

With that, I give you... Pal Corp.!!!

https://imgur.com/a/JekcECa

I kept trying to get further and further away to see how far I'd have to go for it to be out of sight. I then realized that so long as I had any visual of the Japanese island whatsoever, I'd be able to spot my base lol

That might be a credit to the game's incredible draw distance, if anything.

Right now, it's just got the structure built. There's no workstations or pals working there at the moment. But I've got it all laid out and even have my own penthouse suite

Yeah, ladders result in very little, if at all noticeable, stamina consumption for climbing. Bur they're not that great for the aforementioned reasons.

For the same reasons, I've only built a handful of doors that I keep closed. The others stay open and exist for purely cosmetic reasons.

In other news, I caught a Jormintide Ignis with the Remarkable Craftsmanship ability and he kindles stupid fast. Roughly 4 Mississippi's for each Pal Iron ingot now.
