There's no way it doesn't. AI doesn't just "know" how something looks or sounds like. It pulls from a naturally growing database of information from the web.

That's my understanding of it, at least. Put "superhero" in any given image generator and count how many Bat/Superman symbols you come across. Some generators might be designed to filter those out, but I can say for certain that plenty don't.

I'm only playing the last build and not the most recent one, but base AI still needs some work.

I do get messages telling me that such-and-such can't reach a workstation all the time, but they're inevitably able to.

I mostly ignore it.

I'm pretty sure your bases operate on an algorithm once you're far away enough from them anyways.

And I know this has been the one of the end-goals of AI technology from the start, but now that we're actually seeing games literally in development and nothing seemingly stopping them, it's REALLY irritating to me. Especially this Sims-esque game that uses it to generate characters. That's inevitably someone's likeness that the AI is sourcing to generate them.

It's one thing if businesses want to use it to compile data and generate reports, things like that. It's your company and your numbers at the end of the day.

But for things like art, music, and character models... That is inevitably someone else's(or a lot of people's) work being used like clay and there's no way for them to get paid for it, or to get credit for it. This seems especially bad with the potential future of AI-generated voices and the voice-acting industry.

I don't know if I had seen the show before that point, but I acquaint most of my early knowledge of Pokemon with both the Burger King toys and the movie.

Hell, the Burger King toys are the primary reason for Marowak and Sandslash being two of my absolute favorite Pokemon of all time. I had others, including Dragonite and Blastoise, but damn did Marowak and Sandslash look cool.

I remember this story. Thank God something actually came of it.

I recently got around to taking some pictures of my base. It's gone through considerable renovations since these were taken, but those pictures will have to wait.

I was able to solve my food problems finally with four plantations; two berry, one wheat, one tomato. That's given me a ridiculous amount of food to go round.

In other news, I have an alien pal who seems so much better than the others and whenever he comes out, I can't help but think, "Sic 'em boy!".

I will say that I was much smarter about building my third base(I thankfully got progressively smarter with all 3). It's a straight up 4 story fortress with more than enough room in the courtyard for more plantations and supply deposits.

I even built a three-floor stable outside the main building.

Food is weird as hell to me. I'll have long periods of time where a base is perfectly self-sufficient with plenty of food to go around, just to come back and find that my pals are starving, with all of the food supplies completely depleted.

I just unlocked my third base and have started putting the finishing touches on it.

At level 35, I'm kicking myself for just now realizing that I can build an ore mine.

I will happily give up my SS fund for Elon to take his ass to Mars and stay there.

In other news, not the least bit surprising.

On a side note, being unsupported will literally be the best thing to ever happen to this OS.

I always build my second base as my main production base on a perfectly flat circular cliffside on the west side of the yellow mountains. It has a bunch of iron nodes in the center that keep respawning and it's almost always the first place taken on multiplayer servers.

I'm pretty sure that's right where I built it. I had to make a logging site pretty quickly due to the lack of immediate access to trees. But it's a crap ton of flat land that made for an infinitely better location for the expedition hub, which I previously had to build on TOP of my other base and was actually inaccessible.

I made the mistake of building my first base right on the ruins where you start the game.

By the time I realized how bad of a mistake that was, it was already too far along to be worth dismantling and moving. Plus, I made it work in a way that's kind of neat.

I spent yesterday building my second base and it's going strong.

I've got three incubators working simultaneously and that's been the best thing I've done for myself all week.

Anyways, I would still compare it more to Pokemon, even if they contrast in more ways than they share common elements.

I haven't played ARK, but my impression of that game from it's pre-early access days is that it was always intended to be "Everything-and-the-kitchen-sink: The Game"

Whereas Palworld from the very start was conceptualized as an obvious satirical take on Pokemon.

Even though they share genres, Palworld will always be indirectly linked to Pokemon.

Not gonna lie, "ANAL" was the only part of that word I could focus on.

Probably not one of the best advised internet lingos.

It's nearly inconceivable, given that I generally don't like these never-ending-beta survival/builder games and I greatly dislike the Pokemon games(although the Pokemon themselves are cool).

This game has a fantastic gameplay loop and is actually fun to play. It never feels like there's nothing to do and the open world is both greatly varied and utilized well.

It's a legitimately good game, beyond the core "Ha-ha-pokemonz-with-gunz" meme and I can't put it down.

The monster designs are pretty good too, but Pokemon proper has set that bar pretty low for a long time now.

I've seen these and never thought they looked appealing.

But this topic has me morbidly curious.

Was gonna say, I love Brave and have been using it for years.

I just played pretty extensively for a few hours and had an absolute blast.

In spite of the color palette, the world feel is still very much Pillars through and through.

I'm looking forward to it.

With most of the criticisms being levied towards the DEI boogeyman, I'm largely dismissive of them.

Outer Worlds kicked ass and I love the Pillars series.

It's good, but keep in mind that Steam still doesn't have a lot of reviews for the game. When I checked this morning, the reviews were still under a thousand total.

It pretty much gets the combat and battlefields right. The tone of the game is in the best place it's been since DW3, but the story is mostly hot sewage. Some folks may enjoy it more than I do, but as usual, it's more Naruto-lite than an actual respectable telling of the Three Kingdoms drama. That said, it's Omega Force's best effort of all the games and you can tell they put their heart and soul into it; Omega Force just sucks at storytelling.

I also miss playing as the characters (Gan Ning, ffs) and can't stand the entire, unnecessary subplot of the OC.

All that said, the game is fun.

And no, it wasn't a four-way stop. The road I was coming down was a moderate business road. The side Car 2 was coming out of is an apartment complex and the street we were turning into was a neighborhood.

If car 1 does not have a stop, they have the right of way.

If it is a 4-way stop, then the vehicle that arrives first has the right of way. If both arrive simultaneously, then the vehicle on the right goes first.

That's what I thought, thank you. I was car 1, and stopped briefly to signal my turn. Then car 2 just started barrelling out and I had to beat him to the turn. Made me question what I know and if I was in the wrong.

Car 2 was at the stop sign before Car 1 moves into the middle, yellow turn lane. It's a genuine question, because I honestly have no idea.
