I can't help but wonder if the time you got off was the issue? Would it have been after the start of the game? Too late? Too early? I don't know what other angle to look at.

The guy with the bat gets one swing to end the fight or they're done for. Basically, it would have to be a headshot. A hit anywhere else isn't going to fully incapacitate the knife-wielder. Attacking with a bat is also going to be slower, meaning there's a greater chance for the other person to dodge. And that's it. One counter attack and the batman is done.

It just occurred to me that every headline I read these days delivers bad news. It's really getting exhausting. Can't I hear about one good thing happening in the world? Just one?

Graphics have reached the point where a PC version doesn't add any real value. A bad game isn't going to become any better because you can run it in 4K. Nor will a good game become any better than what it already is. Whatever visual enhances you notice at first will become glossed over as you play the game. In the end, you'll have experienced the same game as the person who played on console.

The dialogue is just awful. The weak humor just sabotages any illusion of danger. JP1, and even JP2 had elements of horror. But these movies just come off as a comedy. And the plot itself is just incredibly weak. They need DNA samples? I'm pretty sure you could design a drone these days to complete that task. It just feels like a contrived way to put a bunch of humans in danger again. And how many islands did Hammond put dinosaurs on? I thought Isla Sorna was the island they were manufactured.

It's shaping up to be just another CGI fest with a weak script. I think this is one of those rare instances where this series could benefit from a reboot. You can only slap on a new coat of paint so many times before the whole wall comes down.

Depends on the definition of "luxury". Nothing as crazy as a Rolex, but I have a Citizen Skyhawk Blue Angels, which I think I paid $350 for a long time ago, and a Samsung Galaxy Watch 7 Ultra, which runs $550 (and you really need to have a recent-ish Samsung phone to go with it).

Personally I don't really mind it. If what I'm trying to look up is really important, I'll still confirm it with a secondary source.

Well, when I grew up, games only let you go right or left and you could beat a level in minutes. I don't have enough time in my day to aimlessly traverse something that's the scale of a small continent!

I feel like I'm in an open-world game with no quest markers. The NPCs are no help and I'm tired of grinding for gold. I don't like this game.

I can't imagine something like this happening 20 years ago. When I was in college, if an 18 year old was dating a 22 year old it wasn't even odd at all. A 4 year difference between legal adults is nothing.

While 2 is entertaining (mainly because of Tim Curry), the first is more grounded in reality and features a more wholesome story. Also the relationship between Kevin and Old Man Marley is really well done. Also, after all these years, I just learned of such a subtle yet profound detail. At the end of the film, Marley's hand is healed and free of bandages after he finally reunites with his son. And then of course, you have all the scenes with John Candy which are just golden.

My entire adult life I've never had physical contact with another person (handshakes don't count). But the answer was in front of me the whole time...a massage! I found a reputable place and booked an appointment. When I got there my nerves were acting up, but once the massage was underway, it was like I was floating in the clouds. I no longer felt like a husk of a person. I actually felt alive for the first time in forever. I finally understood what relaxation felt like. My mind was finally free of thought. I could only focus on the massage itself. I'm not even being hyperbolic. It really was a life-changing moment.

I did more research after the fact and learned about cortisol levels. Mine were probably through the roof because of all the depression, constant stress and anxiety. But massages apparently lower it. I feel like a car with a fresh oil change. It's actually reassuring to know that I can just book another one whenever I want. I really should have tried this sooner...

Needless to say, highly recommended. 5/5 stars

They're boring, have way too much downtime in between plays and the games can be decided by biased calls. I prefer e-sports or even games like chess where there's zero ambiguity when it comes to the winner.

Yeah, I'm with you. I recently bought my first smart TV. It's by far the dumbest TV I've ever owned. I remember the time I had to crawl back behind my entertainment unit to unplug it, because the stupid thing froze and I couldn't even turn it off. And I also realized I don't even know where the on/off button on the actual TV is. It's not on the front where it has always been throughout the entire history of television sets. Gotta love the irony. The smarter a device gets, the more unreliable it becomes.

That was just embarrassing for everyone involved. Mike's goal was obviously not to die so he could collect his check. Jake was holding back just enough to not be charged with elder abuse.

It's literally this easy. I get no exercise aside from my retail job and I can't even gain weight despite how much I eat. I just avoid corn syrup like the plague and stick to organic foods. If people actually took the time to research the ingredients they eat, they'd wonder how the stuff ever got approved for human consumption.

I've never gotten around to watching it despite wanting to, but my parents are always watching the DVDs. The theme song is now a permanent part of my memory.

Final Fantasy VII Rebirth. Stellar Blade was also top-notch, and I just started Astro Boy, which is really really good as well. Solid year for gaming overall.
