Voting for democrats won't stop republicans because democrats do very little to undo the damage of republicans. Democrats just keep the seat warm for the republicans' inevitable return. If you truly want to help your friends, you'd pressure democrats to actually protect them instead of democrats using them as political bargaining chips.

Doing basic maintenance to uphold the status quo isn't the amazing effort you think it is. Compared to what they could do, it is coasting. If democrats want to keep appointing supreme court justices then they should be working harder to win instead of running on the same old "we're not republicans" strategy.

It took the democrats losing hard for Roe v Wade to be repealed in order for it to be a key issue. If you want to rely on accelerationism to win, I guess that's a strategy, but I'm not sure if that's necessarily a good one.

Cancelling billions of student debt by enforcing existing relief programs after biden was key in creating the $1.7 trillion student debt problem isn't the huge win that you think it is. The infrastructure bill is good, but amounts to mostly long overdue maintenance. His supreme court pick is good, unfortunately the court is still stacked for conservatives and democrats love picking "centrists" that don't go far enough. The pandemic recovery is thanks to the trillions of dollars printed as stimulus, but it also brought terrible inflation with it.

The computer chips bill is just to spite China, even though working with China would actually be far more effective for things like climate change (their affordable EVs, which biden slapped a 100% tariff on. Their cheap solar panels, which biden slapped a 50% tariff on). His attitude towards China is actually making things worse in terms of inflation (top issue for Americans) and pollution.

It's not just advertising. It costs a lot to develop VR hardware and a software ecosystem around it plus support. They chased an overly hyped technology and flopped spectacularly on execution while anticipating way more demand than there really was. Now they're also chasing the AI hype and pouring billions into buying hardware to develop and run whatever AI models they come up with. They're going to run into the same problem as the rest of the AI chasers, which is monetization. Lots of companies are jamming AI into things, but most people aren't willing to pay for these stupid features, so the companies are blowing lots of money on hardware and the electricity/cooling/etc to run that hardware in the hopes of selling data I guess.
