I really do wonder why people come up with this fake shit. It's disgusting, like the "pick up artists" who claim you can just go to Japan and do whatever you want to the women there. There's a narrative being spun here that I can see appealing to certain groups, especially those who fetishize Japan or Asian women in general. It's gross and dangerous.

Oh yeah, I enjoy her streams, they're the perfect thing to put on in the background while I do other things. It's just too bad that they're so late, so I don't really tune in unless I'm staying up, but then they're the perfect late night working stream.

To be fair, she does waste a lot of time on stream. Like the stream will be titled one thing, but she won't get to that thing until 1-2+ hours into the stream and instead just talk about random things. She considers 4 hours a short stream.

She streams like 12 hours almost every single day.

I used to pay $66 a month a couple years ago but now I pay $79, but I had to increase my deductible in order to get it "down" to $79 because otherwise it would've been more like $87. Never had an accident or ticket. It's all bullshit.

Streaming is very flexible in terms of scheduling and physical demands. Also, being part of a large company offers multiple revenue streams. For example, Gura didn't stream for long periods at a time, but there were still merchandising and brand power (e.g. sponsorships) available to continue generating revenue. Every time she returned, viewership numbers were high anyway, so it's not like the pauses were damaging to her career.

Vtubing offers additional flexibility over regular streaming because you don't have to be physically on camera, so you don't have to keep up certain appearances. It's even possible for someone to take over your choreography/movements in a 3D event if you are not physically able. In terms of career, vtubing is very accommodating for older folks, provided you've already built up an audience.

There are already late-30s vtubers, including in Hololive.

I feel like theaters haven't added enough to the experience for me to care enough. When home video equipment was shittier, sure. Now I only go if others I'm with want to go. I won't go out of my way to make plans for it.

I thought his videos were decent or even great, but the little "podcast" things he did were where his ego really pushed through since the format allowed him to really stew in his own mind canon.

People would be crying regardless. Literally every time a game starring a woman was revealed in the xbox showcase, the twitch chat had a whole bunch of users posting "woman" in it to point it out, as if it's a crime to have a woman as the main character.

On a side note, I remember how the former IDF soldier Eran Efrati described a hierarchy to where people settled in the country. European Jews were concentrated in the center of Israel while Arab Jews/Mizrahi Jews and presumably other non-white Jews were used as a buffer and were settled in the more dangerous places along the borders, such as the borders with Egypt, Syria, Lebanon, etc. in case of attacks they'd be the first to die. The Kibbutzim which were largely autonomously organised and armed were expected to be the first line of defense.

Not saying what Israel did and is still doing is right. Nah, it's more like 9/11 and they've said so themselves with "this is our 9/11" i.e. a legitimate tragedy where they took full advantage of it to carry out things they wanted to do beforehand (e.g. the patriot act was legislation written before 9/11 but they didn't have a good opportunity to introduce it until 9/11 came along). That isn't to say it was a false flag or an inside job or even that they knew for sure it was going to happen, but they certainly made sure to take full advantage of the situation.

For the unwritten societal rules, are people expected to tip on top of auto-gratuity? It's hard for me to tell with all the conflicting information on tipping rules (still not sure about tipping on pick-up/carry-out and what's considered "standard" amounts these days for all cases).
