Wow, MK1 must be cratering really badly if they're throwing out these kinds of deals on their older games.

The only way something like that could sell okay if it was some crazy alternate reality football like mutant league.

Creating an NFL game without NFL teams would be like creating a Street Fighter game where every character was replaced with random people Capcom found on the street outside of their offices.

I miss when they were regularly pushing out games that acted as an equally good alternative to something like Devil May Cry or Bayonetta. I always appreciated the fact that those early ninja gaiden games completely avoided button mashing and qte's in combat.

I can't think of a more perfect example of American morality than somebody writing an article saying that people making nude mods made her feel icky and then two paragraphs later basking in the glow of the fact that you can still murder Laura's butler, something that she herself did when she was a kid.

I guess I misread an article about unicorn overlord. I thought it was supposed to be based on turn based combat. I only just found out about the game this morning. It said something about FFT and I assumed the combat was turn based based. Sorry

No need to apologize. It's an atlus game and the tactics genre is their bread and butter.

A new game coming next month called Unicorn Overlord, supposedly combines all the best elements of all the most famous strategy jrpgs. So it might have some of the stuff you mentioned

I'll have to keep an eye on it. Going off the Wikipedia description, it seems like it's actually closer to something like total war or baldur's gate since all the combat is real time but with the ability to pause.

I really just want them to modernize it with some of the quality of life features that disgaea has added over the years. Let me move my character as many times as I want within the move radius until I commit to an action. Give me a congress where I can vote on bills that impact my army but require currying favor with the local politicians. Give me a means of increasing the difficulty of stages so I can level grind in places where I choose prior to a tough fight if it's too hard. We don't need anything zany like tower attacks, but even some of the basic combo attack stuff could be expanded on. Even the ability to unlock a higher tier of a class by resetting your level would work perfectly fine in an fft setting if it was just usable on generic soldiers and you're effectively recruiting multiple generations of them.

I yearn for a tactics game with the mechanical complexity of a disgaea but with the character writing and story lines of an fft.

Someone as physically fit as The Rock should know how bad energy drinks are for you. Endorsing it is not a good look. At least Gatorade type drinks have some merit.

Someone who has used as many steroids as The Rock isn't qualified to be held to this kind of standard.

It's not even true detective. It's some other story written and directed by 2 people unrelated to the franchise who got their story rebranded as "True Detective" for marketing purposes. The actual person who wrote and directed TD 1-3 stayed on as executive producer to cash those checks, but season 4 has always been some unrelated crew wearing the show's skin for easy money.

That's why Dirge of Cerberus exists and, whether we like it or not, the "FF7 canon" officially includes all those awful spin-off games, so when we're talking Vincent it's not longer just isolated to his first appearance but also includes everything else he's involved in.

If you type her name in youtube some of the right wing agitprop has already complained about this. And dumb right wing media influences almost half this country.

The existence of an angry tweet or someone having made a YouTube video isn't proof of an actual controversy. There's always somebody angry on the internet.

Is anybody actually upset over this? Or is this just one of those cases where we're manufacturing controversy so we can claim someone's being brave in the face of no actual opposition?

2 felt the best to play, but 3 had that awesome world map mode with dungeons and stuff. And I want to say the customization was best in 6 but I could be wrong on that one.

Plus there's all the wacky crossover characters in some of the later games, like Yoda and 2B.

The problem is the use of conflicting terms. Research shows that if you just look at fatal shootings by police, you're at higher risk of being shot to death by a police officer if you are white than you are black. However, if you look it overall violence than the use of violence against minorities is in fact higher.

So if somebody says there is no bias in police shootings, you can certainly point out that there is a bias in police violence but the second statement doesn't disprove the former.

You can also see the muzzles on the puppies kind of rubber band a bit when they move around.

It was already on its way out with how easy it is to cut up video to remove any surrounding context behind what's going on so you can make aggressors look like victims.

The title of the comic is "Manly Guys Doing Manly Things." Just because you don't know the difference between a website name and the title is not my problem.

You're getting a little too deep into the argument and starting to lose the thread. The comic is about super manly characters from fiction who are completely incapable of integrating into regular society, so a manly man from the future that's so manly they literally changed his name to Commander badass so that they could sell more toys of him has to come back and basically play Mommy to a bunch of emotionally shattered heroes as they try to do things like work at walmart. It's absolutely a comedy and the punch line is absolutely machismo.

Anyone who played Tekken 7 knew from the second they opened character customization in 8 that cosmetics were going to get sold to us at some point. There are just far too few options compared to prior games. The big question will be whether any of them get bundled in with the season pass or if it just becomes a completely separate means of selling things to people.

Technically she appeared in the pilot episode, but the pilot episode has basically nothing to do with the animated show that eventually got released. However, it does have kitty pride... even her dragon familiar.

Cloud is worse at everything compared to everyone else. What are you talking about? Tifa is the best melee, Aerith is the best magic attacker/healer and Barret is a better tank and ranged. He's the jack of all trades master of none character.

The trade-off is he has the most flexibility in how you build him which is useful since the game regularly rotates out party members you can play with. Don't have barrett? Make him a tank. Don't have tifa? Make him dps. Don't have aerith? Throw all the healing stuff on him.

But his counter stance is where he really shines and completely trivializes a couple of otherwise very difficult battles once you have it, in a way that no other character would have been able to do.

675 feels kind of low for claiming you have good credit. It's not awful, but it's sort of like starting a club for people with good grades and allowing anybody with a c+ or above in.

Cloud's counter hit abilities are mostly useful in boss battles where you don't have Barrett and/or the rest of the party. When Barrett is around drawing aggro cloud's main job is building stagger.

I'm sure people said the same thing about Nintendo before Iwata died.

Being a tank is about drawing aggro and soaking damage. Nothing about him being ranged to prevents him from doing that. It just lets him poke and piss off enemies across the greater part of the battlefield.

And by endgame I would describe cloud as DPS with an emphasis on stagger and counterhit.

Just wait until people read the article and realize that one of the co-sponsors is AOC. If you thought Texans were going to freak out hearing that the federal government is introducing a bill to force their grid onto the national one, just wait until they hear that AOC is one of the people pushing it.

If you're talking about the remake, he's mostly a tank. Focus on buffing his defense, throw some defensive spells on him from another character, and then allow him to provoke the enemy and soak up damage.
