As a non-American I can see things getting super bad.

As in "2028 election results not being ratified" bad.

Trump has legal immunity for anything he does in office. He has stated the entire campaign that he is going to destroy his enemies day 1. He's even outright stated 2024 will be the last election in America.

So far every single one of his cabinet picks with the exception of Marco Rubio (who'll just get thrown out like everyone else that Trump disagreed with in his first term) points to Trump making very overt moves towards Project 2025.

Put very simply people need to start listening to what Donald Trump is promising to do and get it through their delusional coping skulls he is going to do exactly what he's promising to do.

Remember that I come from this as an outsider. I don't have skin in this game directly (although America allowing China to do as it pleases will cause massive issues for my nation and the world in general), these are just my largely unbiased observations of the situation.

Those observations are bleak on a good day. The only hope is that his cabinet has zero competency and the purging of every single level of administration and beurocracy ultimately prevents him from getting into the nitty-gritty stuff regarding legal process and election process. It's game over otherwise and we're all going to look back on 2024 as the year of the death of the world's most powerful democracy, possibly even the birth of the world's most powerful totalitarian empire.

I see 2024 as a transition point for America akin to the year 27 BC was for Rome.

Theres a few things Republicans have proven over the last 30 or so years. Roger Ailes told Nixon that Americans are stupid and need information in bite size easy to understand sentences. Karl Rove proved in Bushs campaign that if you tell a lie enough times people believe it. Grover Nordquist had weekly meetings post Nixon sitting down conservatives from all over the country where they would talk about issues they all collectively had but they would all leave on the same page so they had unified talking points coast to coast. Point here is assuming all our justified dooming doesnt come to pass then for elections going forward we need to consider what the GOP has proven because this is sadly who we are. Like them they should have short, simple messages repeated ad nauseam in lockstep since its all the mental bandwidth most voters have. The DNC bends over backwards trying to appease everyone and snaps their own spine in the process. They need to stop Ned Starking themselves because the days of honor and decency in American politics are dead.

The DNC have a tent that is too large and unfocused because of it. They allow the GOP to point at their perceived misgivings and cannibalize themselves to uphold decorum but should the opposite happen the GOP will huddle together and hunker down no matter how much theyre doing so around unfettered fucking human garbage. I would love not to fight fire with fire or facism with facism as youre saying but the American electorate is too apathetic, too ignorant, too intellectually lazy and too brainwashed to reach through conventional means. If were not willing to get our hands dirty and fight then this election result is all we have to look forward to.
