I've got a pretty good answer for this. Learned this both through my mass media class and through being a creative myself.

The answer is Disney.

It's Disney's fault because the animators were starting to get rightfully upset over how they were being treated. Rather than treat them better, Disney decided it was easier and cheaper to just switch to 3D -- and that's how Toy Story was born. Creatives are always taken advantage of in business because business knows that they're passionate about their work and are willing to take some hardship if it means sharing that passion. But there becomes a point where it's too much. Then creatives get let go, they lose the rights to their own work, the network takes over their show, and the company saves money at the cost of that work's integrity. Disney also single-handedly ruined copyright law in this country for similar reasons. They fucking suck.

2D animation now mostly persists through indie work or for personal emjoyment. The 2D works you see on TV nowadays are mostly puppets (characters and their body parts are drawn in every angle needed and pieced together and animated for the scene), so basically nothing is animated frame by frame anymore and you can really catch the stiffness if you look for it. Characters also face just the one direction or have a consistent head shape to accomodate for ease of use as a puppet. Family guy is the posterchild for this. It's faster and cheaper than classic 2D animation.

However, classic 2D animation persists in other countries. American corporations just ruin everything, including the things we use to express ourselves or to escape our reality.

iHeart is okay for listening to music. I can't turn autoplay off which sucks. It's also a subscription service which REALLY SUCKS. I fucking hate subscription services. I am almost completely against them -- but I'd still rather do this than support Youtube rn. $10 a month is crazy.

Yeah. Youtube might as well have a monopoly, just like Google. It's sickening. Sometimes I feel like companies have more right that people in America. Can't go a single damn month without one ruining something.

In case you didn't already know, Youtube came out with a new bogus AI age-verification system yesterday. The AI monitors your history and determines if you are under 18 based on the content you watch. So if you're an autistic person with "younger" interests or somebody just trying to play cartoons for their kids, Youtube will just lock you out and you have to send them sensitive information about your ID in order to get back in. What's scary is that a whole bunch of platforms in several countries have suddenly rolled out mass censorship and ID requests at the same time, all under the guise that it's to "protect children" -- but we know damn well it ain't. Youtube literally allows a subculture of baby monkey torture porn on youtube-kids, so I don't buy it for a second.

So uninstall the youtube app, leave it a horrible review, cancel premium, and if you happen to be on the Godforsaken website that is Twitter, @ them and tell them how much they suck.

To tell you the truth, I have always wanted to go goth.

It's funny because I'm known as the person who always loves bright colors, and that's true, but I have dynamic tastes. I look good in lots of things and wear lots of different styles but goth has consistently been my favorite. I love how people look in it and I get jealous when I spot goth girls in the wild. I always talk with them and they are the nicest most confident people. One time I saw a lady in walmart and every single thing she wore was goth. She was pushing a black victorian baby carriage with her baby inside. One of the coolest people I've ever met in my entire goddamn life. I felt like a little kid approaching their favorite pro-wrestler just telling her I liked her style. The only thing that's stopping me is that I live with family and it would be embarrassing. If my coworkers saw me like that it would be so awkward. I haven't told anybody but when I start living on my own I want to try dressing goth from time to time. I'd still be nervous seeing them while I'm out and about, but maybe when I take trips or, Hell, even if I'm just alone. It'd feel so freeing.

Flappers, I agree that the generational bashing should stop but you have a bit of a victim complex about it and that does tend to encourage it.

I'm a victim complex of my own mind because of crippling depreciation so this is probably not inaccurate. I also always sound more upset than I am because that's just how I talk.

As for your life not being where you want it and feeling incomplete, thats pretty normal for young people and has been across generations. My life has really only started coming together in the last few years and Im 38. But dont always feel that you need to wait until you feel ready to do things. There are some things that youll never feel ready for and sometimes it is about just taking the plunge.

I'm an introvert with depression and anxiety so I'd rather NOT. I do have a few close friends who I do stuff with every now and then. I see them in some way or another every week. That's about enough for me. And I do want to have more in-person experiences but I just don't have the independence to be able to go out and do that by myself. Even if I could, my life is far from being in a place that I'm happy with so I wouldn't even want to share it with anyone because I feel...incomplete. I want to get my shit together first. Even with the few friends I do have I feel like I spend a lot of my time pretending that I have it more put together than I do because I feel embarrassed about my situation. I'm afraid that if they knew they would be disappointed in me or think about me as lazy. There are a lot of people my age who are dealing with these sorts of mental health problems because it hasn't been easy for us to afford a place to life, go to college, get a job, or meet each-other. Most of the people I meet who are in my generation are just tired.

Although, I do see what you are saying now. Sorry if I sounded harsh or presumptuous. I can promise I wasn't as upset as I may have sounded. That's just how I talk to everyone. It's a bit of a communication difficulty. Thanks for talking to me.
