Chugging along in Death's End. Got to the part where Cheng Xi meets Tiangming. Thought there was an interesting mirror in how he turned up just as she was ready to kill herself, which made me expect something much more depressing about to happen, but it was surprisingly sweet.

Also read some more Lovecraft. Music of Eric Zahn was pretty cool. I really liked Pickman's Model though. Ultimately a pretty simple story about an artist who draws fucked up paintings, with the twist being wow he modeled them after real life. But I'm a sucker for the melodramatic way Lovecraft spins his tales, and the vivid account of the narrator's meet-up with Pickman was delightfully unnerving. So even if the twist was predictable, getting there was a fun ride. >_>
