Running experiences similar, tbh. Steady state vs interval training, twice a day vs daily vs bidaily, etc. Decent amount of nutrition regarding stuff like timing carb intake to when you have a big race, for example. 95% of it is just "always strive to do it for longer or faster. Then we finally got FF5 for real as a PSX port, with a different translation for things, and so people had different baselines and adopting to the "new" or "proper" name is cumbersome.
FFT suffers similar with Algus (PSX) or Algath (PSP). Or, more famously, Aeris. Ran Windows 3.1. Had a 3.5", 5.25", and a magnetic tape drive which was a nifty cartridge halfway between a VHS tape and a walkman cassette which was a way to back up everything. what about people who already bought/own a home? They can sell their home and buy a new one (from someone who is also selling their home to buy a new one, etc). only a small % of the population buys 1 home in all of their life and then proceeds to die there. Lots of people upgrade homes as they start families, or when the kids "leave the nest" as that extra space is now excessive. If you want to capitalize on this incentive, do it. This is enough to allow party members to come and go with the storyline. Eventually you'll do all the stories in a mega man style, and then they'll all converge with the common threads as everyone meets up for the final chapter.
If you're one for story, highly suggest the robot/sci fi. If that doesn't hook you, call it.
