Do you have an estimate date or timeline for the full finished product?

Oh god no haha. My short term goal is to finish up through the first exploration level, and to see how long that takes and use that as an estimate for the rest of the game. Right now what Im working on is the intro/tutorial section and that has taken a couple months.

I generally only get 2-3 hours on average per day due to my real job and family responsibilities so its fairly slow going. Presumably as I get more familiar with the modeling software things will start to move faster.

i would expect 3-5 years and thats of course if I stick with it. The pipe dream would be to use some slice of the game to secure funding in some way, but I am paid very well at my real job and its not something I can give up for my familys sake

once I have the game mechanically sound and at least a level complete I want to put up an alpha build/demo on itch.io and see how people respond to it

i cook for my wife and kid all the time and we dont have a bunch of leftovers. Sometimes itll be something like a bolognese that is a bunch of servings and freezes easy but most of the time we have enough for dinner and maybe lunch or one meal the next day

Same here. Most non junk and non frozen foods have not increased in price much. The real price increase has been in frozen meals and packaged snacks, and like...I just wait to buy that shit on sale as much as I can.
