i think that would be a wonderful outcome, provided everyone can get along and not kill each other.

the arabs in the occupied territories outnumber the jews in israel proper, so they would likely win any one-state election. i remember when something similar happened in iraq after the shias won, and it led to persecution of religious minorities + sectarian bloodshed/civil war. so my honest questions to you are

1. what is your plan for stopping Hamas or a Hamas-like party from winning this election, coming to power, and then genociding all the jews.

Prior to the terrorist attack and response Fatah was somewhat competitive in Palestinian favor with Hamas. I imagine people are in less murderous moods when they're not being murdered. In the scenario of a unified electorate it would be best for Israeli Jews to throw in with a Fatah-like party to stave off the Hamas-like party.

Granted there are no guarantees in democracy, we can't even keep Trumpists out of power in America despite a much less bloody recent history.

Mecha_Sonic posted...
2. what is your plan for convincing israel to go along with this and grant suffrage and political freedoms to every palestinian in the occupied territories.

"Do it or we don't support you anymore." America's been forceful about spreading democracy in the past...

How about just remove the apartheid elements and let everyone within Israel's led territory vote on the country's future? Peacefully and democratically.

Why do we care if he hates him? He SHOULD hate him. The man is quite deserving of hate.

Yes, but the point is that he hated him before the good reasons to hate him manifested. He's now using these legit reasons he doesn't actually care about as a vehicle for his original hatred. For example the dude threatened to take his music down in response to Spotify deplatforming convicted child molestor R. Kelly but now he's pretending to be a defender of women and youths just because Drake is the one creeping on them.

Kendrick just hates Drake's whole vibe and the fact that the guy achieved success despite it. He doesn't like how an upper-class Canadian guy slid into American rap culture pretending to be hardened and tough. He is "authentic" and views Drake as "fake". Even when Drake's public image was clean and he was nothing but helpful to upcoming artists (including Kendrick) Kendrick was resentful of him. Dude's a full blown culture gatekeeper lol.

Thing is the GOP voters are fully onboard with the move too, so it doesn't matter that donors also push it. Conservatives rage over closed coal mines and oil pipelines. Even if it wasn't an option to get paid for doing so Trump would still roll back the regulations.

It's a strategy to neuter the twitter faction of the Republican party. Every time they fail it reduces their influence and power.

Thing is there's no political benefit to doing that, and the Twitter right would've failed anyway when a less right-wing Speaker than Johnson was chosen to replace him.

Trump is very happy the motion to vacate failed, since it keeps his fascist stooge in power:

Zero good happened when the government shut down. The House can't really do anything "bad" because the Senate and White House wouldn't approve of it anyway without it being bipartisan.

You are, as usual, wrong and also incredibly shortsighted.

The government didn't shut down, they passed continuing resolutions to keep the government open until a Speaker was chosen.

Anyway either way there's a fumble here. Either McCarthy shouldn't have been thrown out or Johnson should've been thrown out too. There is no way to argue it was a good idea before but a bad idea now when Johnson is literally more extreme than McCarthy.

Yeah it's overlooked that Kendrick has basically hated and taken jabs at Drake for years no matter how respectfully Drake tried to treat him.

Drake's only real play was to just keep ignoring him and let him look like the immature one, because Drake isn't really viewed as a serious rapper the way Kendrick is. He can beat other pop rappers, but not a "real" rapper, so he needed to leave it alone. Instead he responded with fucking AI rap.

People underrate Trump's political awareness just because he's stupid in most other regards. He was able to build a cult for a reason, and his previous choice of running mate was far more strategic than he's given credit for.

The idea behind picking Noem before was that she was a Trump loyalist with the public image of being a somewhat reasonable conservative. Unfortunately for Trump she killed that perception in order to sell a book, but he obviously notices how far her stock has dropped.

Rounding out the South Dakota governors Friday was the Rolling Stone report based on sources of the publication who recounted how Trump has expressed disgust with Noems killing of Cricket in closed-door meetings and telephone conversations.

Why would she do that? Trump who is grappling with nearly 90 felony criminal charges, among other legal problems was quoted as saying. What is wrong with her?

Rolling Stone added: He has expressed bewilderment that she would have ever admitted to doing this, willingly and in her own writing, and has argued it demonstrates she has a poor grasp of public relations.

This is how he actually feels.

What any politician but especially Trump says to donors, people he's trying to grift for money, is generally bullshit. He just won't throw a MAGA worshipper under the bus in a professional environment since he doesn't gain anything from doing so. He'll officially praise Noem despite personally being done with her, same as he's doing for Kari Lake.
