Data Hacker: Corruption is trash. Virtually unplayable. Almost every screen in the game has a script null error that can crash the game, but when it IS working it's one of the most unfair RPGs to start... because you start at about level 30 and the starting enemies are level 60; their default aoe attack can OHKO your entire party!

That can be solved with gratuitious save scumming, tho; and I'm already up to level 41 - gaining a level almost every battle. However, I'm in a situation where I'm saved before a crash so... ya, GG, FO

I'll give it a couple more GENEROUS pity hours to see if I can work around the bugs, but I might have to shelf this game

You could also use a saw or cutoff tool to cut out the side of the cooler.

in the context of Darkseed 2 this actually is an achievable option, they just didn't think of it

Data Hacker: Initiation is... actually kinda good. For an RPG Maker game using almost entirely default assets they did a good job putting them together. However, I'm at the final dungeon at level 27 and the recommended level is about 40... why is my level so low? Well, because dungeons are weirdly short and succinct so you can complete them without too much investment, but because they are short you can do them without grind since you can avoid enemies and just assassinate the bosses.

So, I gotta just turn my brain off and grind now

as a benchmark before drinking the next box I had a classic Tetley Orange Pekoe to see if my opinion changed...

aaaaand, nope! Tetley is still trash. it did have some thicc colour and flavour, but sadly that flavour was garbage.

so, I guess this topic is over. My conclusion is that I just don't like tea.

Of the flavours I tried I think English Breakfast was the best blend, and I was most interested in Pumpkin Spice but it being the first one I tried didn't brew properly so I don't know how it really tasted even though it smelled the best.

Of course, I don't wanna dunk on tea drinkers in general... flavour is flavour, but I feel like I could invent a BETTER tea! I feel that a tiny tiny amount of salt woulda boosted the flavours in general, not enough to make it taste salty tho, just a tiny. Next, I'd use herbs that I like such as more cinnamon, allspice and ginger; a half lump of sugar and a pinch of salt... mmmm'

Ya, turns out my Darksiders 2 save was pretty much right at the end so that was fast

I get to skip Darkwind: War on Wheels for a few reasons; first is that it's not actually ON steam, it's a third party launcher only since it's a web game technically.. it's also VERY SHITTY; like, it is pay 2 win as well, but it's also shitty on top of that. The second main reason is that... luckily, it has no main campaign, it's only pvp and missions.

So then I played Darwinia. beat it; kinda nice but ehh

oh ya, forgot about Darkness Assault - not THAT good; but if it was some devs first game kinda project then I'd give them a very heartfelt 'you did it!' cuz in that context it's a rather good effort...

Ok, so it's time for a new block. I have the Data Hacker trilogy so that might take a while cuz they're RPG Maker games and people are REALLY bad with RPG Maker sequels; not escalating things or using the exact same progression in all 3 games.

here's the steps; you have to go to the dark world to get an ego massager to use on the strongman to get him out of his self-loathing so he'll be happy enough to remove the anvil. Getting the ego massager requires using a creature you win in a carnival game on a panel... also the carnival game is rigged so you have to get an entirely different item to rig the game in your favour first which requires breaking into a prison to give food to a guard

Darksiders 2 took a sec to setup cuz of compatibility, but luckily I have a save file in progress on the cloud! I started in the assemble the rod mission, which I don't know how far into the game that is but I just got portals which was an end game item in the first Darksiders

so.. I previously thought I beat Darksiders 1 but the achievements said I didn't, I even got the achievement for beating the Stygian this session

However, I already had the achievement for beating the spider boss... and all the content seemed very familiar... ... I did indeed beat this game before, it just didn't count my achievements for some reason. So I totally coulda skipped it!

Oh wells, the game still fun tho... it's like a very slow Devil May Cry

Look I'm just fascinated by people who can dedicate that much time to gaming. Lokarin probably plays more games in a week than I do in a year. And I still can't figure out if I'm appalled or jealous

My steam profile says I have "403 hours past 2 weeks", but much of that is cuz I'm currently playing an idling game

Kind of telling that the entire list is basically episodes that happened prior to 1997.

Three on that list are from Season 8. Which kind of surprises me, because I personally think the rot set in even before that (my personal Jump the Shark moment was Season 7's Treehouse of Horror). But I'll forgive it because one of those is the one with Hank Scorpio, which was great. And because some parts of the X-Files parody still amuse me.

I'd have to vote for Treehouse 5 out of those specific choices though. I think the Treehouse episodes were some of the best from that era, and 5 is probably my favorite of all of them (while I really enjoyed most of the previous ones as well, 5 might be the only one where I loved all three segments).

The first episode on the list made after 1998 is in 44th place with Trilogy of Error (homer loses his thumb)

Next is Trash of the Titans in 64th place (sanitation commissioner)

Then, unexpectedly, Treehouse of Horror 33 in 67th

Also, only ONE Season 1 episode is in the top 500; that being Simpsons Roasting on an Open Fire
in 110th

soulslikes doesn't really translate to 2D, they almost always become metroidvanias

I mean, take They Bleed Pixels for example; it's very much the Souls formula in 2D with the gimmick that you take the bonfire with you and have to decide whether or not to make a respawn... but the game is crazy hard

Then there's games like Dead Cells and Rogue Prince of Persia that have super smooth combat and motion... but no one would consider them soulslikes

I don't entirely understand Ska so I like some individual songs but not the genre...

It seems to me like the concept of 'lets tell the bad news in a good way', like an antithesis to gospel music and a parody of the blues. But that's just my shallow opinion of modern ska and I haven't heard any stuff from the 60s
