Not allowed, of course some of them still do it secretly. The ones I know are all underground idols so even if they did get caught, they'd just leave their group and maybe join another underground group. Happens all the time.

The bigger idols however have so much more to lose so probably don't risk it.

I have had some personal experiences with an idol though >_>

I don't know who that is nor why I found it so entertaining, I will say bravo to her for speaking English so clearly and with hardly any accent. The first time she switched from Japanese to English it threw me off and then she just kept switching back and forth.

She mentioned being an idol so she was no doubt motivated to learn English for an international audience, still, bravo to her.

You have a few of them nowadays who have learnt English at a young age like Rei Seimiya and Yuri Kitagawa.

So they have been raised at a young age abroad. There was even an Australian one in another idol group.

Edit: Still pretty rare for Japanese people to switch from English to Japanese like them. It's almost impossible for a Japanese person to be fluent in English when learning exclusively in Japan imo.

I grew up around a lot of Chinese and Koreans, so I'm used to seeing all their features and differentiating everyone. But it has happened to me with some white people before and I'm white lol

Same, I can differentiate them too, except I didn't grow up with many at a young age. I think I really started mingling with Asians in University when one of my Chinese friends had me join the oriental society (Is that word considered to be offensive now? It was an official club at my uni >_>).

Anki is what I used for my kanji. It helps a lot. If you get a kanji wrong it will spam it at you until you freaking learn it and it won't forget. And if you're pretty good at recognizing a specific kanji it'll slowly fade it away to the point you never see it then bring it up again. If you remember alright you won't see it for a long time, but if you get it wrong? Get back to seeing that kanji again a lot more often. It's a solid system. You'll always know what's your weakest and strongest kanji with this system.

I remember using this for a few days and I could see the usefulness. But then my phone died and had to get a new one, and never ended up redownloading the packages. Really should do that this weekend and get back on it.

I remember asking a girl out for a group dinner. I think she thought it'll be a date between us due to a misunderstanding and rejected me pretty fast.

So when the night came, she must have found out from her friends and she ended up coming. Shit was awkward as fuck when she saw me. Like she wouldn't even look at me. I think she felt bad when it was just a miscommunication >_>
