I pulled my back from sneezing once. Getting old sucks :(

I have no strong opinion one way or the other.

For many years, I've been using the Milk Bar Theme from Majora's Mask as my ringtone. I have no plans to ever change it. And I also have the OoT 'puzzle solved chime' as my notification sound. That too will always remain.

Just finished the first episode...

I absolutely hate the way it's through sheer coincidence that the Air Nomads get wiped out. If Aang wanted to "clear his head" he could have retired to his room, or stayed up on the mountains. And furthermore, he allows himself to be hit by a gargantuan wave, despite being on a flying bison. That's two coincidences in a row that needed to occur for this story to even exist.

Also, the characters lack chemistry. The line delivery feels off in a lot of places, and the expository dialogue comes off extremely heavy.

And the outfits...I disagree with their decision to make perfect replicas of the animated outfits. The environments look great, but the characters stick out like a sore thumb. The fire nation's armor is the only thing congruent with the tone of the world. The water tribe is living in wooden huts and struggling to catch fish. How are they producing such lavish garments? An Aang's outfit looks like an upscale Halloween costume.

It's not horrible, and maybe it'll get better. But it's exactly as good as I thought it would be based on the trailers. The trailers really did show you exactly what you were getting.

On an unrelated note, how did the fire nation know that the Avatar was still alive? Did they have any reason to believe that Aang wasn't among the children left at the Air Temple?

The tweet says the guy started "talking" to her. Is that the baseline for predatory behavior now? Well, better lock me up because I went beyond saying hello to the hostess when picking up my food the other day. I asked her how her day was going! I sure hope I didn't make her feel endangered in any way.

Yeah, once Gangnam went SS, now everyone is doing it and it isn't cool anymore. I remember back during the golden age of Youtube, "Evolution of Dance" was number one with like 70 million views and that was considered crazy. Now any two-bit pop star can hit those numbers in a weekend.

As far as high profile games go, that might be my answer. I can't remember a single thing about the story, or even who the villain was. The only part of the game I remember is Vaan screaming, "I'm Captain Basch of Dalmasca! Don't believe Ondore's lies!"

I considered that possibility, but I felt this way with movies I hadn't even grown up with. For instance, I just watched Howl's Moving Castle the other day for the first time. I was completely enraptured by it. I had forgotten how captivating traditional hand animation could be. Nostalgia had nothing to do with it.

Pretty sure I remember it peaking around 6 to 7,000. It's unfortunate. GameFAQs just isn't cool anymore.

But really, I blame social media and smartphones. When I was growing up, if you needed a source of entertainment, you had either books or television. And if you were in school, you could only whip out one of those during downtime. I'll also blame parents for not introducing their children to literature. Yes, making a habit out of reading to your child may require more effort than dropping an iPad in their stroller. But it'll pay dividends when they grow up to not be a completely worthless contribution to society.

I think they drop the narration after the first few episodes. Definitely doesn't go past season one.

It ran for six seasons, but I've never heard anyone discuss it on the internet. I just got done watching one of the Halloween episodes. I had to snort at this joke:

Dad to his kids: Don't pass out any candy to anyone wearing a white sheet. They're either a lazy ghost or something much worse.

Not to mention, Constance Wu is my dream woman. So I might be a bit biased. And as far as tough mom characters go, I think she's the only one who could give Lois from Malcolm in the Middle a run for her money. I would love to see what Jessica Huang would do to someone like Reese lol.

That has nothing to do with it. I'm a grown ass adult and I still enjoy many kids movies from that era. It's just that all the CGI garbage they put out now lacks soul. It's like it caters exclusively to children with ADHD. There's no subtly or undertones. It's just a barrage of bright colors and nonstop silliness.

I would have liked to use that to visit places I've never been to, so there goes that idea. Time stop seems completely broken though. I don't know how long 1d4+1 turns in a row is, but it seems adequate to buy you extra time to think, or make decisions in a tight spot. If you're on a job interview, or a date, you can give yourself time to always come up with the perfect response. Not to mention, being able to cheat at card games. So you'd have wealth to go along with it. It just seems to have so much more utility.

That show had 15 seasons?! I remember I gave it a shot once. I think I only saw two or three episodes. I wasn't really feeling it. Didn't care much for the missing parent trope. I imagine it's one of those shows that gets better as it goes?

$120ish or so for Jordans back in the day. I don't spend that much anymore. Now I aim for the 70-80 range Nikes. They have a line that has a super soft cushion, which is good for my job since I'm on my feet all day. Those are the only ones I'm going to be buying for the foreseeable future.

It's objectively the NES. No saves, clunky controls in every game, uncomfortable controller. Nothing on that system has aged well except for maybe Mario Bros. 3, which has a superior version on the SNES, so it doesn't even have that going for it.

With my luck, we'll suffer another great depression as soon as I hit 64.

I don't really have the desire to smash things. So I'd likely utilize his scientific brilliance to create something cool that will benefit me after those ten years.

Or I could use my powers to enforce peace between nations. But that will require a lot of effort. Not to mention, revealing the existence of such a creature could have huge ramifications on the future of mankind.

I'll probably pick a bird, because the power of flight would provide a fresh and exhilarating experience. I'd probably go with a crow, because I would like to retain some degree of intelligence.

There was some ripleys style museum in Orlando I think it was called wonderworks. They had a room that had different levels of wind from like tropical storm to hurricane force. For volcanoes and the arctic tundra you probably have a microwave and hot pockets at home.

But vr is probably the next best thing.

Universal Studios in Orlando used to have a Twister ride based on the movie. It didn't quite pack the same punch as a real tornado, but it was a cool experience nevertheless.

This face. Never saw 90210. Party of Five was another one from that era that I enjoyed though.

I finished the series for the first time about a year or two ago. Even though I didn't grow up with it, I still got hit with the nostalgia. It was also nice seeing the context for Dawson's meme face. I wanted Dawson and Joey to be together dammit ;_;

I know I have autistic tendencies, but I don't think it's severe enough to actually be labeled autism. And probably depression. But I can't say for sure because I don't know what the distinction is between that and feeling sad 90% of the time.

No idea. I have a digital playlist of individual songs that go all the way back to the 50s. I don't listen to albums because I don't even have favorite artists, just favorite songs. The only era that I'm notably lacking is the 70s and everything after the early 2000s (that isn't K-pop).

I'll go with Occam's Razor on this one. He's probably just a gullible idiot that genuinely believes everything Putin says.

You know, it's only been three days...but I actually feel this palpable change in myself. Feels like I'm breathing slightly cleaner air. Not quite sure how to describe it.

As I mentioned in the topic I made, I'm giving up Reddit and Youtube, my two biggest addictions right now. I'm curious to see how I'm able to handle it. At the very least, I'm looking at a lot of extra free time.

Welp, I'm about to close my Reddit and Youtube tabs. Time to find out what happens to an addict when they quit something cold turkey. Hopefully I can make it through this. Wish me luck.

This would be like the time Buffy sends Angel to that hell dimension and he comes back with severe mental and emotional trauma. Though unlike Angel who eventually recovered, whatever poor human subjects themselves to this torture would most certainly not. I would imagine they would revert to some primal form of human where they'd be incapable of any reason or rational thought while existing as the embodiment of total unquellable agony.

I've given up too and struggling with the acceptance phase. I know that not everyone can be a winner, and that there must be losers. I just keep asking why I had to be one of the losers.

Ive definitely noticed people being warned and having topics deleted for espousing right wing beliefs with no apparent TOS violations. Not long ago I saw it happen when somebody made a pro-life topic. Theres a bit of an echo in here.

Yeah, I got modded for trolling on this board some time back for asking a question regarding side effects of the vaccines. And also for making remarks that were deemed "politically incorrect". So I just stopped discussing those kinds of topics here. Same thing with Reddit. Depending on what sub you go to, your opinion gets downvoted unless 51% or more people agree with you.

The truth is, there really isn't anywhere on the internet that fosters open discussion from both sides. The minority opinion always gets shut down, which only leads to more extremist ideologies. Civil discourse is a thing of the past unfortunately. And it's ironic considering we claim to value free speech, but at the same time we continue to label more and more speech as objectionable.
