it's weird, the NBA had an amazing season only to have possibly the worst round 2 in the history of the league. Houston and Boston haven't been close despite the 2-2 - it's up to them to salvage this.

the worst part is that no matter who wins in the Houston/SA series, that team goes shorthanded against the Warriors.

there's a lot out there if you like emergent gameplay. Far Cry 2 is the most obvious example. the difference is that Zelda sounds very smooth around the edges whereas Far Cry 2 is openly hostile to the player. plus it's just got dat Nintendo charm.

but 'biggest leap forward in a decade' that's a bit much unless you can quantify it

that's a tough one for me.

I like Zelda but I don't love it. I probably wouldn't rank any Zelda in my top 50, but I do think Zelda 1 is amazing for its time and everything I've heard about BOTW is that it's the evolutionary Zelda 1. that sounds appealing.

yeah, the kids thing is drawing me in. I've seen some amazing articles written about how great this is to play with your kids.

I just don't want to buy it on wii u and don't plan to get a switch until maybe the holiday season. or at least until Xenoblade 2 happens.

can't tell if this is serious or not but this is a thought I've had. people here adore the heck out of Zelda so does it play for people who love the Zelda formula? seems like yes but I bet some people are firmly in the no camp.

I don't know if this is true for you or not, but sometimes games played in your youth make it kind of immune from criticisms even years later. I know I'm that way with a lot of games. I don't think I would accept Xenogears's quirks if it came out today.
