Mark Cousins' The Story of Film is another big one

I personally find Cousins injects his own bias and can be a tad pretentious at points but he did his homework.

Takes influential films from just about every region of Earth and examines how they were made, their cultural influences, their directors, etc etc.

There's a several part documentary, but also a book version available.

Anyway to answer TC's question

Trump doesn't inspire much loyalty to the people working for him. As we've seen repeatedly, most notably and recently with Sessions, he doesn't exactly hesitate to backstab the people who actually are loyal to him. So any sort of reasonable or intelligent person in his administration is probably interested in taking him down and replacing him with a more stable boss

The federal government itself is full of career staff who likely despise Trump.

I'm a fan of the original films

Alien: Covenant was not a good movie.

It was decent and better than Prometheus but there are several plot holes and weak instances in the script and story.
