I personally feel it should stay just to represent the history and how people of that area felt about him during that time. But I don't feel strongly enough to care whether it stays or goes. I would rather it go to a museum to preserve history over it being outright destroyed though.

I wouldn't worry about it. He'll probably still complain anyway. Lots of people do. However, ineffective assistance of counsel is one of the hardest claims to prove. Lawyers have been caught falling asleep at trial and still not considered to be ineffective.

It seems so weird to me this ideology, as I will call it, that critics are not allowed to dissent with the consensus on something. With someone like Armond White at least you can trace a history of contrasting views that have the appearance of trolling. If you actually took time to read the review, he quite liked it. Unfortunately, the hunter-gatherer mechanics and the weapon durability problems present in the main game contributed significantly to the score being a 7 out of 10. A 7 out of 10 isn't a bad score.

A few things. 7/10 is a passable score. This isn't the film industry where a 30% is still watchable. If a game doesn't hit the 70% mark, it's not worth buying in this industry. It doesn't matter what the individual reviewer says his score means when he's using the same score system as everyone else ( a score from 1-10) and knows people just go straight to the score from the start. So BotW receiving a 7, means it's as decent as the standard bare minimum highly marketed title, when it has accomplished something people have been clamoring for years that no other open world has accomplished, an open world with full environment interactivity.

The more glaring issue I have, which you guys haven't addressed, is that the whole fiasco surrounding the review. The guy drops his review on a Sunday, less than a hour later, his site gets DDoSed (you'll hear his site got DDoSed for the review before you even hear about the review). And then his next video is about how bad Nintendo fanboys are, right on schedule the next day. These things, the attack on his site and the criticism are just too convenient in his favor. And he has been recorded to be with a group that have DDoSed other sites before.

Of course, the attack on his site could be genuine, but the whole picture for me is just too convenient, he has the spotlight for that week since everyone long since had their reviews out, he's making money off of this all the way through, and any dissenters are going to immediately be called disgruntled fanboys. This is why I call him a contrarian. He knows what he's doing.

And yes, I've read the review and read through a topic of people directly responding to him and poking holes in his review.

I play Fire Emblem Heroes, and I can see just how quickly someone could break down and spend money on virtual currency for the chance of summoning the characters you want. There's a lot of pressure to keep up with the metagame, the characters you want to get have low percentage chances of appearing (which decrease as more characters are added to the game) and it's frustrating to finally get the character you wanted to summon but it has individual values (IVs) that aren't optimal.

I'm happy that I have yet to spend a dime on the game since its release in February. Hopefully this trend continues. I think the biggest issue isn't that people aren't stupid, far from that. But it's a lack of self-discipline to withstand all the balls the game throws at you to succumb to paying for orbs to summon more characters.

Last month, they introduced summer edition characters which if you liked any of the characters previously, you'd be tempted to try to summon. It takes roughly 100 orbs to summon the character you want if you only target summoning orbs of its color. Then the beginning of this month, they introduced more summer edition characters, one of which is critical to a specific niche, as well as 3 banners featuring other top tier characters that people are constantly on the lookout for. Tomorrow, they're releasing characters from FE Sacred Stones, and among them are characters that are going to drive certain playstyles.

There's no way you try all these banners and get the characters you want. Not without paying up. There's not enough free orbs to do so. It also doesn't help that they introduced a new feature where your first summon is free, so you're more inclined to want to finish the summoning session (5 summons but the cost drops after each summon 5->4->4->3->3 for a total of 20 orbs per session) since you're basically getting a discount.

I just finished reading it. I don't see the problem at all. If anything, the response to it bolsters its point.

Damore is absolutely correct that they need to focus on understanding why males are more populous in the STEM field, and what you need to do attract diverse applicants and the issues they're creating with the current method. He introduces good ideas with regards to attracting females into engineering like making the environment more collaborative.

As someone whose grand goal is to create a TV show for kids that would get them interested in math, I'm pretty open to these kinds of things.

Winston Churchill was credited with saying something along the lines of "I don't trust any statistics I haven't doctored myself". And Damore mentions that misleading interpretations of the data happens a lot in social psychology.

Adams was shortchanged, Lawrence's role was more of a supporting role in the first place with a lot less screen time.

Adams definitely was. But I also included Lawrence because Jenner also had a supporting role (which he absolutely destroyed) but got a 9% cut. So either Jenner was overpaid, or Lawrence was underpaid.

This dude didn't let himself get fat. It's not like he took a passive role and it "happened". This guy was the one forcing all this food down his gullet. It was he who decided three cans of pringles a two liter of Pepsi and 18 buffalo wings were a snack.

He's fat and lazy and now wants a quick way to lose the weight. The problem is, the attributes of his character, the very same that led him to getting this way, are still inside him.

He talked about how why he was so fat. He came from an abusive home where his mother manipulated him with food to make sure he became unhealthy so he could be dependent on her. From there, it built up to living a self-destructive lifestyle which he's only now fighting to get himself out of.

He did talk about it's the mindset you speak of that will determine whether the massive weight loss will be permanent. It sounds like he really wants to turn his life around.

I find the show's premise quite unrealistic.

Not going to lie, from the little history I know of Haiti, it just disgusts me to see it be the husk of what it used to be. The first country in the Caribbean to emancipate from slavery. Successfully defended against the English, French, and the Spanish. And now it's a little more than a cesspit.

I'd kill for a TV series detail its rise and fall.
