They don't allow it because it can be a sexist slur.

"Bitch" also can be but it's such a common word in American vernacular with many uses.

Yeah I suppose I tend to forget that since this is an American website, they only operate on what's right and wrong according to that culture, which may conflict with the rights and wrongs perceived by other places around the world.

I don't know about you but when was I was a kid I never thought of the mighty morphin' power rangers as teenagers that were a meager few years older than me, they always looked like at least 20 somethings if not more. I think some of the cast might have truly been late teens at the time but they all just looked so... grown up and fully developed. There's definitely no way Billy was a teenager.

I never understood "teenagers with attitude" phrasing at all. They were anything but.

For me it's the fear that if I sell or exchange my old car for a new one, they might run it through a possible database and find out about the hit and run (it's not what you think) which is a consequence I don't want to face. So that's why I'm trying to stay under the radar for the most part.

Yeah I've never seen such a tiny bit of (non)power go to someone's head like that.

You see it all over message forums. For some reason they attract the kind of people who want to be a real hard ass antagonist who gets at people and gets in their business and attacks them for whatever micro-aggression they perceive, but only when they can be completely faceless, anonymous and hiding behind a computer while they do so.

They remind me of those shitty rookie cops you see who are in it just for the power trip, you just know they must be compensating for something to let such a small amount of power go to their head.

In the real world it's an unfortunate fact of life and especially terrifying when such (usually uneducated) kind of people enter law enforcement as it makes the civilian feel unsafe.

But on an internet message board I've never understood their internet kind; never understood why this technology isn't simply used to converse with people across state lines, oceans, and continents, instead of being used to do this:

https://photos.smugmug.com/photos/i-mHzvgPv/2/66bff040/O/i-mHzvgPv.jpg

Uh, the c-word that rhymes with punt is not short for anything.

The british swear word? Yeah that too has an interesting regional difference between uk and us (just like the alternate word for cigarette). I was thinking of my own experience where I referenced the word that rhymes with dolores being shortened in a particular movie and got modded because the word was quote unquote "offensive".

I think it's referring to the shortened form of a woman's genitalia, further emphasizing this pathetic dump of a forum with its pathetic mods' unawareness that they are increasing the case for women's bodies being stigmatized as inherently "offensive" the way american media/culture does by not showing nipples/vaginas etc.

Generally all food that comes from water is regarded as seafood, however there are still valid distinctions between finned fish and shellfish as you may be allergic to one and not the other.

What about fish from a river? That's not a 'sea'.

They are or are not included depending on where in the world you are.

Also most rivers flow into the sea eventually.

Not sure about YouTube, but you can at least avoid ads while browsing if you use something other than the default chrome browser. I use Brave which has a built in ad blocker. Been using it for 6 months now and it's amazing.

Browsing isn't what's bothering me, I mostly use my phone for the in-house youtube app to watch videos of the channels I like, from games to movies to asmr for sleeping. It's annoying especially before I go to bed to hear a loud ear blasting ad. I honestly think it should be illegal to have ads play if the phone's timezone is between the average hours of sleep like 9pm-6am. I would honestly lobby for it to be a law.

Anyway I sometimes resort to using firefox to watch youtube but while I loved firefox on computers (especially when it was actually good) I absolutely loathe firefox on mobile, it's pure garbage, and is just inconvenient to use as a permanent youtube player. Ad free though at least...

You know how in sci-fi when they go to other planets, planets as big or bigger than earth, all the people on that planet seem to be exactly the same? Which makes no sense when on earth we have literally millions and millions of differences between each of us, between regions and borders and climates and people.

Yet on these planets they're all desert people or they're all nature loving elves or what have you.

Obviously they do this because it's easier than showing how a single planet can be so damn diverse which could take away from the plot at hand. But it makes me wonder if homogeneity is what will happen if we become advanced enough and have all the same resources like time speed travel and flying boats and smartphone bracelets and whatnot.
