Topic | When you go out to eat are you normally waited on? |
Uglyface2 04/19/17 5:37:26 PM #7 | I usually do drive-through, so I went with the fast food option. Interesting developments there, some restaurants do a hybrid where you get your own drink but they'll bring you your food when it's finished cooking or while you're getting your drink (Penn Station, Boston Market). |
Topic | Where do you go after WORK or SCHOOL ends on a typical day? |
Uglyface2 04/18/17 6:18:55 PM #13 | Normally I go home. I might stop along the way if I need to buy something for work the next day and I don't want to forget about it, and sometimes I'll pick up some food along the way, but the end goal before I make any other serious time commitments is to go home. |
Topic | Nintendo is discontinuing the NES Classic |
Uglyface2 04/13/17 7:19:09 PM #42 | I was hoping to get one so I could play it with a friend. Maybe there'll be another version, or they'll do something with their SNES library. Really, they've grown tiresome. |
Topic | Nintendo Direct today at 3PM PDT/6PM EDT. [ARMS] [Splatoon 2] [3DS] |
Uglyface2 04/12/17 6:40:41 PM #74 | I missed nearly a half hour of the Direct (YouTube was supposed to notify me and didn't). I've read the topic and the only 3DS news I saw was a release date for Ever Oasis and something about Monster Hunter Stories being released here. Was there anything else? |
Topic | Do you like vegetables? |
Uglyface2 04/12/17 5:33:27 PM #74 | I used to never eat my vegetables (with rare exceptions), and that lasted well into adulthood. It's only been in the last year or two that I've made an effort to eat them, and after so much time avoiding them I have a hard time doing it. It's getting a little easier, especially if I eat them with something that has a stronger flavor. |
Topic | Man with troubled past killed by authorities - do you think he deserved it? |
Uglyface2 04/12/17 5:28:41 PM #6 | Unknown_voter posted... no because he looks white in that picture "Now there was a fine, upstanding black man." "Who?" "Jesus Christ." "But, Gary, Jesus was white." "No, Jesus was black." "No, Jesus was white." "No, I'm pretty sure that Jesus was black." "Guys, guys... Jesus was Jewish." |
Topic | What's the most money you would spend on a watch? |
Uglyface2 04/11/17 10:56:40 PM #8 | With my current finances I can go from $50-$75. If I had more money I'd go as high as $500. |
Topic | The Best Youtube Channel Contest Day 26 - Hyun's Dojo, Numberphile, Every Frame |

Uglyface2 04/11/17 8:14:16 PM #22 | Seriously? Potholer over Rachel? |
Topic | For those on this board who feel life didn't turn out as they hoped |
Uglyface2 04/11/17 4:51:50 PM #7 | A lot of my problems were borne of naivete, a lot from stubbornness, and a lot from a failure to plan properly. Of those, I'd say naivete was the worst offender. That's not to say circumstance hasn't had a hand in things. Some people simply didn't like me and that made me their target. Others... well, they were more than willing to manipulate me to get their way. But it's mostly me. |
Topic | Do you resent fat people for taking up more space than an average-sized person? |
Uglyface2 04/10/17 9:52:47 PM #3 | I have a lot of self-loathing, so yes. |
Topic | Is it normal to be fat? |
Uglyface2 04/10/17 9:50:59 PM #6 | Historically, no. People used to get considerably more activity based on their daily activities. I'm not up on present day statistics, but I'm fat and need to lose weight. |
Topic | How often do you have sex? |
Uglyface2 04/05/17 7:19:39 PM #31 | Never had sex, but I do enough of the all-time number one to get by. |
Topic | Which color of M&M's tastes the BEST? |
Uglyface2 03/30/17 9:11:40 PM #7 | The green ones. https://youtu.be/ap6pAUBsl30 |
Topic | what do you guys think smurf's sister looks like now |
Uglyface2 03/29/17 7:00:10 PM #3 | How many years ago was that? She was in her teens back then, so we're talking mid-to-late 20's by now. Probably still a looker, probably married, and maybe with a kid or two. |
Topic | Original or Cover - Day 9 - Killer Queen |
Uglyface2 03/29/17 6:23:36 PM #13 | Who can compete with Freddie Mercury? Original. |
Topic | So does anyone else here have an exceptionally hard time understanding foreign. |
Uglyface2 03/29/17 6:21:35 PM #25 | "Bawstigmatic"? I understood "You the dad" and "Scumbag", so that's something. |
Topic | The Best Youtube Channel Contest Day 14 - Good Mythical Morning, Extra Credits |
Uglyface2 03/29/17 5:40:49 PM #4 | Hyun's Dojo Gazorra Extra Credits HD was ok. GMM... maybe I'm just not in the mood for that. I like Todd well enough, but Gazorra made me laugh. I watched an episode of the Catherine the Great history lessons and enjoyed that. Bikdip didn't really catch my interest. |
Topic | So does anyone else here have an exceptionally hard time understanding foreign. |
Uglyface2 03/29/17 3:53:30 PM #19 | It's difficult sometimes, but not impossible. I have to do it for a living (insurance companies outsource their call centers a lot of the time). I try not to take my frustration out on the folks on the other side of the world trying to make a living. |
Topic | Do you ever blame god when things go "terrible" for you? |
Uglyface2 03/29/17 3:37:48 PM #8 | FlyingForever posted... No I don't blame an imaginary sky genie for my life's troubles Wow, I almost cut myself on all that edginess. |
Topic | Britain's PM officially starts Brexit |
Uglyface2 03/29/17 3:13:55 PM #19 | Lightning Strikes posted... So Britain is screwed. All of Britain's key industries, science, tech, finance, etc. depend on access to the single market. Britain is a service driven economy and cannot self-support, which is why we are going after trade deals we will not be able to get without loosening the immigration laws this was partially about. The banks are screwed because the EU will not let them keep their passporting rights, and before you go "lol serves them right", remember that not only do they support the British economy, but the massive tax contribution they pay is vital for supporting the NHS and things like that. And that will be how the government attempts to keep the tech and finance sectors around, by slashing the corporate tax and making things worse for poor. The very people who voted for Brexit thinking it will help them. Additionally things like science (which the UK is a world leader in) are in trouble because they depend on EU funding. Their budgets are going to be a fraction of what they are. Scotland is going to leave and rejoin the EU, which will hurt the rest of the UK in order to save themselves. Also the issue of Northern Ireland which will be a complete mess. And that's not even getting into things like inflation, house prices, and the aforementioned exchange rate. Just curious, where do you suppose EU banks will invest their money, instead? They can't just sit on it. |

Topic | The Best Youtube Channel Contest Day 12 - The Game Theorists, Numberphile, Andre |
Uglyface2 03/27/17 7:26:39 PM #6 | Caddicarus Tsuko G The Game Theorists Andre is just too dry for my tastes. I totally get where his fans are coming from, it's just not my thing. Caddy's is a little better in this regard. I suspect mine will be one of the very few votes he receives. I liked Tsuko G better. Maybe I'd have liked Numberphile more when I was younger and I thought I was good at math. I'm so far removed from it now that it's just no fun. |
Topic | Whats the worst thing youve ever done to another human being? |
Uglyface2 03/27/17 4:44:02 PM #28 | I'm having a hard time coming up with anything because the "worst" things I've done haven't been all that awful. |

Topic | Whats the worst thing youve ever done to another human being? |
Uglyface2 03/27/17 4:38:03 PM #18 | junk_funk posted... On Halloween I snuck up behind a 10 year old overweight kid when I was 13 and snagged his Halloween pillowcase full of candy right out of his hand...then I ran off up the road pouring a trail of his candy on the ground a few pieces at a time. Laughed the whole way until the pillowcase was empty then I threw it in a bush. The trail of random candy was about a 50 yards long. Took the kid a long time to pick it up, and he cried the whole time. I had my Halloween candy stolen once. I don't know who did it, I've never forgiven them, and God help anyone I see trying to do it to anyone else because I will beat the life out of them. |
Topic | Thirty years of video games -- a transience retrospective. |
Uglyface2 03/27/17 3:00:58 PM #321 | Ugh, Xenogears. I started that game under the impression that I had to beat it. I got as far as the point where all the end-game sidequests came up and I just said, forget it, I don't like this game and I've wasted enough time. I've been much more willing to abandon games ever since. Final Fantasy Tactics: I was having an OK time of this one, except that I never really took to the systems and when I tried to switch things up I hit one of the games' "superboss" fights Metal Gear Solid was a revelation in what video games could do. I made my friends sit through the Resident Evil 2 was considerably better than the first game, especially the voice acting. I no longer cringed whenever somebody opened their mouths. It also marks the first especially jarring jump scare for me: |
Topic | What's your favorite Nintendo portable system? |
Uglyface2 03/26/17 8:02:28 PM #5 | Game Boy Advance was a huge leap from the Game Boy Color, moreso than the leap from GBA to DS or DS to 3DS. I went with that. |

Uglyface2 03/26/17 8:00:34 PM #275 | neonreaper posted... I still have the old tall CD/DVD case style Symphony of the Night somewhere. That's just a timeless game for me. I love it more than Super Metroid (but often list them consecutively in my top 20) My copy was black label smaller case, and I'm pretty sure I picked it up at launch. Was there really a tall version? |

Uglyface2 03/26/17 4:52:40 PM #39 | Paratroopa1 posted... I actually can't imagine a danger situation where you have enough time to react and your effort is better spent honking your horn rather than having full control of your steering wheel. Someone starts drifting into your lane, or they start backing up and might hit you. |
Topic | Do you usually honk at people who make stupid driving mistakes? |
Uglyface2 03/26/17 3:42:25 PM #34 | I usually swear loudly at the driver and glare, but the horn rarely gets used. |
Topic | Thirty years of video games -- a transience retrospective. |
Uglyface2 03/26/17 3:14:53 PM #256 | I'm sure I had a Playstation at this point, and it was entirely because of Final Fantasy VII. The Playstation Underground CDs became a thing, too, and that got me to buy Wild Arms and SotN. I don't remember if they were the reason I bought Parappa, but I got that at launch. I think there was a demo for Bushido Blade, so I bought that. I think it was a video game magazine that got me to buy SaGa Frontier, which I really didn't like (but my friend did). |

Uglyface2 03/25/17 9:06:46 AM #205 | This might have been the year I finally got an SNES; I'm not sure when the Super Mario All-Stars pack-in became a thing, either 1993 or 1994. Either way, the timing was fantastic. This was the commercial: https://youtu.be/JodRxFVMkn0 |
Topic | PSN Flash Sale + One Day Only Nioh Sale live now |
Uglyface2 03/24/17 8:09:32 PM #29 | I've already picked up Puzzle Quest and GoW 3 rebastard from the regular sale. I'm thinking maybe a few movies, but otherwise? As for Nioh, not only do I have a backlog that I'll never surmount but that backlog includes Dark Souls 2 (barely touched) and Bloodborne (never started). |
Topic | Thirty years of video games -- a transience retrospective. |
Uglyface2 03/24/17 8:02:11 PM #196 | Mortal Kombat for the Genesis, the best reason to rent a Genesis from the video store. I played the hell out of Secret of Mana. It got to the point where I discovered the secret top-level magic animations (not terribly secret, but unless you leveled the hell out of your magic you'd never see them) as well as the level 8 weapon orbs. They never changed the ending, but I kept hoping. |
Topic | The Best Youtube Channel Contest Day 8 JonTron, Robbaz, Don't Hug Me .I'm Scared |
Uglyface2 03/23/17 7:59:35 PM #11 | JonTronShow Stefan Molyneux DHMIS is a brilliant bit of work. I still like JonTron. I flipped a coin on the last one, neither one was particularly enthralling. |
Topic | Is 20 too young for a 35 year old to date? |
Uglyface2 03/23/17 7:00:17 PM #8 | While I'd like to say it's a bad idea, I will point out that one of my sister's friends from high school married a much older man and they're still together. I don't know the details and I really don't care to know them. It still creeps me out decades later. |
Topic | Thirty years of video games -- a transience retrospective. |
Uglyface2 03/23/17 3:47:54 PM #95 | What a year that was. I finally got an NES (I won Little Nemo for the NES in a drawing and that gave me an excuse to get one), my friend had an SNES, and just wow. I really dig Actraiser even today. I remember spending a ton of money on eBay trying to get the symphonic CD. I don't know if it would hold up today, but I still listen to the music every now and again. I completely agree with you on Final Fantasy IV. Yes, the game was grindy, but it was far less so than the first game. It had story, it had music, it had pathos that hadn't been seen in console gaming (at least in the US). Super Mario World is my favorite Mario game, but there's no shame in it being beat by FFIV. |
Topic | Thirty years of video games -- a transience retrospective. |

Topic | Thirty years of video games -- a transience retrospective. |
Uglyface2 03/22/17 7:43:03 PM #62 | I'm sad that SMB 3 didn't take your top spot. That game was pure magic, and it's still incredibly playable. I like Super Mario World a bit more, but that's saying something given how much I like SMB 3. Final Fantasy was really good for its time, but it was grind-heavy and I can't imagine wanting to play it today. I remember one painful dungeon that required multiple visits to level up enough to maybe stand a chance against the boss monsters Crystalis was really good. I played it on the NES and played the GBC remake. I was seriously distressed when it ended because I wanted more. Super C let you steal the other player's lives in co-op, I think. Jackass friend was doing it to me without saying anything, and I started asking why I didn't have as many lives as I thought I did. (It turns out he was busy losing all of them.) I still liked the game. I could go on, but I'm just going to agree that 1990 was really good. |
Topic | Nier Vs Horizon Vs Zelda |
Uglyface2 03/22/17 6:29:46 PM #9 | Have people actually had enough time to play all three of those? I've only played some of Horizon. |
Topic | What's the best energy drink? |
Uglyface2 03/22/17 6:28:32 PM #9 | I go with 5 Hour Energy because it fits in my desk drawer and it doesn't take long to drink. |
Topic | Thirty years of video games -- a transience retrospective. |
Uglyface2 03/21/17 8:30:17 PM #16 | Metroid admittedly hasn't aged well, but I stand by my "brain-melting" statement from before. The concept of getting new equipment to reach new areas and power-ups was still fresh, and finding secret passages was exciting. |
