Holding all other things equal, is it reasonable to assume the person who says anti-war stuff is more likely to actually be anti-war than the person who DOESN'T say anti-war stuff?

Not when said person contradicts themselves constantly on LITTERALLY EVERY ISSUE (except "LOL let's build the wall!!!)

Did people really leave in droves with the Urza block? It had a lot of dumb stuff to be sure and had a lot of stupid turn 1 win conditions, but it was also early enough in MtG's life that this type of imbalance should've been considered commonplace rather than something rare. I mean there were a few blocks of calm there but it's not like unlimited was that far back.

As someone who was actively playing at the time, I don't recall that at all actually. Tournamemt attendence may have dropped a little until the bans, but that's it. And the bans did come reasonably quick. Standard was still all kinds of crazy, but still pretty fun while Urza's lasted. This was a time a major growth for Magic overall and I think the "combo winter" was more a bump in the road.

As far as DPS goes - I never knew how bad other people were until I used a *method censored by Square Enix*. I'm at the top of the charts 99% of the time, even during the 24-man instances. And I'm not even that great!

This is why an absolute ban on *censored* would be absolutely stupid.

That seems dumb and at odds with a lot of other similar rulings which seem to check targets at both cast/trigger time and resolution time. MTG rulings worse than mercs rulings imo.

It's amazing how these things get overblown

Like I swear some of the samw technical issues were very present in ME1-3 (ME1 especially was terrible for that!) , and yeah maybe they should have dealt with them by now but it doesn't stop people revering those games.

There was a similar reaction to me3. The ending was bad, so now Tali being a stock image is this terrible abomination and proof that they "phoned in the game" or some such garbage. If the attitude towards the game is bad this relatively minor stuff gets totally exaggerated I guess. I had a mission yesterday where the guy I was talking to was running away from me. I just chuckled and wrote it off. It happens. I kind of got the idea.

This is backwards. Tali was a big drama bomb on the forums before the game was even released.
