At the moment, Jolteon, Feraligatr, Flygon, and Gliscor have won generations and will be involved in the grand finals alongside the winners of Gen V, VI, VII, and the three Pokemon with the longest winning streaks to give us a final ten.

In the event of a tiebreaker, I'll hold a one-off topic to break said tie. Those rounds (same as these poll topics) last 24 hours to determine winners and whatnot. For purposes of this contest, no alts and no rallying.

And back to the main crew. Sazh is a pretty damn good pilot, all things considered. But they crash their ship regardless, and wind up in Vile Peaks. This is where we finally get the split pairings that'll carry for a chunk of the game if I recall correctly. Hope runs off after Lightning ('cause boy's got a crush), and then we're left with the two best characters in the game to play off each other. Awwwww yeah Vanille and Sazh.

Back to Snow, and what do you know? I get access to the FF13 version of the best summon in the series. Yeah Shiva! Kinda kinky how you have twin sisters scissoring as they transform into a motorcycle, but whatever. It's cool. Also, Fang finally speaks, and shows up. Makes sense, I guess. Snow solo isn't much fun. Might as well give him a party member friend.

After realizing I missed an item, I ran back a LONG way, only to discover I hadn't actually missed the item at all. This meant I got the joy of having to fight that fucking hoverbike TWICE, but thankfully after it was a total bitch to kill the first time, I managed to get a pre-emptive strike the second time and killed it JUST after the bonus damage ran out. Also, fought another alpha behemoth, but this time I got a pre-emptive strike and proceeded to wreck his shit.

Nearly maxed out the cast's current sphere grids, so that's cool too.

Even though I think Lightning has a stick up her ass a mile long, I do find it hilarious how little she's willing to tolerate Snow's buffoonery. TWICE she has punched him in the face, and both times it's kinda deserved.

God I love having magic and the ability to beast through basic enemies, rather than taking two turns to kill anything. It's nice to finally get to the actual game. I mean, the story stuff is okay (and there's still story stuff, mainly with Snow being a hopeless idealist and Sazh/Lightning being pessimistic as fuck), but just being able to play at a more rapid pace is so nice.

And FINALLY the game allows me to do more than just auto-attack. It's time for fun times with new abilities! Magicks and whatnot.

Also, I once again am impressed by the combination of cast members in this game. Aside from Lightning and Snow (and Vanille/Fang later on), none of these people knew each other going into the game. This allows for real personalities to shine through. How does this character react when control is taken away from them? How does this character act around other people? As whiny as Hope is, his character feels very realistic for a kid going through what he's going through. All of these characters feel very realistic in their motivations thus far. I really like that.

Okay, now the reason for the new spoiler topic. We finally meet Serah who is *GASP* Lightning's sister AND Snow's fiance?! Great. That would um...well, I would care a LOT more had we been introduced to Serah BEFORE this moment. As it stands, you have every character thrown into the story en medias res, and thus I don't know Serah and don't care about Serah as a character when she "dies." Obviously her death matters to the CHARACTERS...but we haven't known THEM long enough to care either.
