Essentially, we're a long way from the hallway fight scene in Daredevil 1. That scene was raw and powerful, down to earth. But here they're trying to bring in mystical shit but they don't have the budget for it. I like wire-fu, I really do, but we didn't even get wire-fu for the fight scenes (since I certainly wasn't expecting anything realistic or the caliber of the hallway fight)

Or lack thereof. The fight scenes are getting sloppy and its clear that they didn't know what to do with madam gao and make it not seem obvious they're using quick cuts and stunt doubles to show an old decrepit woman of 80 years fighting or taking a punch.

And it's not just that. The big climactic fight scene that was supposed to be the "New York" of the series, the battle of the chitauri from Avengers 1 good, is either in the dark or completely impossible to follow due to all the quick editing.

I know they can't do a movie budget of millions due to the smaller size of the TV audience but...

What the hell are you talking about. Never mind the terrifying nature of holding someone captive, there's the fact that she was cheating death, so quite frankly even if she was an angel (she wasn't) the point remains that death caught up with her eventually and that's that.

God Tangled was so good. Mother Gothel is probably the most terrifying villain since Ursula. Maybe more considering I was a kid when Ursula first gave me nightmares in little mermaid, yet Mother Gothel was able to scare me as an adult.

Not at all "anime in a nutshell."

None of them are lolis, and none of them have grossly exaggerated proportions.

For that pic to be anime in a nutshell, the one on the left would have to be flat chested and the one on the right would need tits the size of the middle girl's head.

I believe you mean this?

Yeah, pretty much. Now where's the loli character? There has to be at least one or else it's not a true anime.

But... the one on the left is the loli character.

Kind of hilarious, honestly, looking at that pic totally makes sense from a historical perspective.

1. You need a helmet because hits to the head are by far the most devestating, it also is a protusion from the body and "above" everything else making it a particularly likely spot to hit in close combat.

2. You need to cover the gut. Gut wounds cause massive infections that get you killed days later. No need to kill someone outright if you can make them drain food and resources while not fighting and dying days later.

3. Shins solid place to protect. Most mobile place of leg, and breaking a leg also takes a solider out of a fight.

Pretty much everything else at that point is a hindrance. You can't just put armor on people, they have to actually carry that shit, and having exhausted soldiers because they're wearing too much armor is worse than having not really vulnerable parts exposed and non exhausted armors. It doesn't really have anything to do with ease of movement but rather still having enough energy left after a march to move at all.

But also there isn't much need to armor up someone who is already impervious to most mortal weaponry. You don't armor up Wonder Woman for the same reason you don't armor up Superman.

Wasn't the armor made before wonder women? If so it was magical armor made for a human Amazonian warrior to act as their champion. Wonder women was made by a god, and doesn't really need it, but may wear it out of heritage. If I am wrong I am sorry, but I seem to remember the armor and lasso being ancient treasures of the Amazonian's.

I dunno if the movies use comic book lore do they? I mean in that recent movie, is diana sculpted from clay as well or born into the world the traditional way?

Yeah you didn't miss anything by not watching the recent meh movies (with some being drastically bad while others being between ok and awful, basically around the D grade category)

Watching any of the recent movies won't even remotely explain how things got to where they are in Logan. Don't even bother trying to make sense of Fox's crummy X-men universe in terms of continuity or consistency. I still can't believe 2016's Deadpool was so amazing if Fox were the studio behind it (though I hear ryan reynolds and tim miller deserve the credit)

^ ^ Or why Hollywood tells black women to straighten their hair instead of leaving it naturally curly. It's not nearly as bad as removing adorable cheeks for a sharp jaw though. I mean, at some point the more surgeries you do you start to look like a man... is that what they want? Sharp jaws are associated with masculinity, while soft features that Asians in particular have are much more feminine and fitting.

She probably liked having red hair. Or maybe someone in charge thought a wig looked too fake. It is pretty obvious when someone's wearing a wig versus their real hair. Now, a high end wig will look almost indistinguishable from real hair, but I sincerely doubt they would devote that kind of budget to a middling tween show on Nickelodeon.

Fun fact: look at the hair of any girl (or guy) who frequently dyes their hair wild colors. I can almost guarantee that it will look like shit. Extremely dried out and straw-like. If Ramona Flowers were a real person, her hair would be failing out from the constant dying.

I know one girl who from redhead to blonde to black hair... I don't even know her natural hair color. She makes all of them work, but I really can't tell what "damaged" hair really looks like. For me it's either you have hair or you have no hair.
