I feel like a game like Mighty Number 9 that generated a good deal of drama, is the kind of game where some people did take pleasure in its failure.

Had the game been better received with the same pre-release drama, I wonder if there wouldn't be a little bit of disappointment that they wouldn't be leading the lynch mob.

I'm struggling to think of a game though that had a ton of pre-release drama and then turned out better than expected. Where there's smoke, there's fire.

Going to repeat this because the kind of discussion going on right now shifts the point away from what it should be. You can treat elections like games and "but she would have won if she..." but then you're putting the onus on the politicians to run better elections, instead of the American people to make better decisions.
