Raccoons can grip things with their front paws. Even solo, they can be dangerous to other animals- they are omnivores- but in groups? We used to live across the street from a big-ass oak tree when I was... between the age of 2 and 9? and 3 raccoons lived in it. They were really big, like... hmm... maybe 3x the size of your average cat? I thought they were cool right up to the point they murdered some of our cats.

I really don't understand why people seem to idealize "natural" things, but maybe that's because I wear glasses.. and clothes... and play video games... and use the computer... and put unnatural collars on my cats and feed them unnatural kibble and canned food and give them unnatural cat toys and take them to unnatural vet visits...

Whether something is "nautral" or not is completely neutral. It has not bearing on whether or not it's "good." I dunno. Just seems like an odd thing to fixate on.

1 cat to coyotes, 2 to raccoons, 2 to owls, 1 to neighbors who didn't like that we took in their kid who they kicked out of their house, 1 to a car, 1 to neighbor dogs. We've had a lot of cats over the years, and after a while you get tired of losing them to avoidable bullshit.

Yeah I mean you clearly sit in your home all day playing with your cat to mimic it's natural behaviour but most folk will be out doing things.

You just play with them before you feed them, implementing a natural cycle and engaging in socialization with them. Other than that, most of the time they're fine entertaining themselves or sleeping. They sleep about twice as much as humans, so it works out pretty well.

Why are people getting so offended by me stating simple facts, lol? I don't want my pet to die, or kill other local animals, or develop some sort of paraste or illness from killing other animals, or get hit by a car or ripped to pieces, etc, because that's what happens when you let your pets run loose.

"Natural" sure. That's why you play with your indoor cats, to engage with their natural behaviors without putting them at risk.

Pro-choice. People are not legally oblicagated to sustain the life of others at their own bodily expense. We don't treat any other similar situation this way; blood and organ donations are not mandatory. Corpses would literally have more autonomy than pregnant people under a State that forces people to carry pregnancies to term.

Most late-term abortions are for non-viable pregnancies, or are, ironically enough, caused by stupid restrictions on abortion services that delay the procedure.

Yes, though he didn't really cover anything I didn't already know. I think a lot of people who are only familiar with the movies or didn't *think* much about the books can definitely learn something from that video.

One of the things that's annoying is that it took her getting flack for her anti-trans nonsense in order for a lot of people to start paying attention to other issues in the books. Like... SPEW is the obvious one, but the really weird way the houses function and then go unaddressed even in supplementary post-book material was just... yeah. There's a lot of issues in the books, from a variety of angles.

Edit: Another obvious example that is rooted in the books but only became a huge issue with Fantastic Beasts is that Grindelwald is a racist wizard supremacist... who apparently wanted to stop WW2 and the Nazis? ... Like... why? And does that mean that opposing Grindelwald makes the protags basically enablers of Hitler and Co? It's just bizarre. Did they think they were being deep? It's not deep; it's incoherent, lol.

I played XCX when it first came out and I'll never forget when I ran into a Tyrant that had only been killed by two other players according to the counter. Thing was in the middle of nowhere, lol.

I played a good portion of the first area in Elden Ring and then decided to spoil the entire map by searching online. I was curious. When I saw the whole world I thought, This game isnt that big. But after actually trekking the map myself, and Im still not even fully done, I have to say that its fucking massive. I like it better than BotW. That says a lot.

Unfortunately I'm playing like... 3 other games right now, so I have to wait to pick up Elden Ring because it's probably going to take my full focus.

Oh, I dunno. I think I'm pretty consistent in my misery. XD

The current train of thought is that Russia may use a "tactical" nuclear weapon (about 5 kilotons) in Ukraine to convince the rest of the world they are willing to use the rest of the arsenal if the world were to intervene.

This would be such a bad idea for so many reasons, not the least of which is that nuclear fallout means that an assault on one country is very likely an assault and many neighboring countries.

And honestly, I'm starting to wonder... if Russia's nuclear arsenal is as poorly maintained as the rest of its military seems to be, attempting to launch a nuke seems like it might actually be dangerous for Russia, depending on where it launches from.

Man, X was so much fun to play and run around in. It had a ton of problems but it's still my favorite open world game (though I suspect Elden Ring will topple it once I find the time to play that).

I'm... talking about actual legislation; every single point I mentioned was mentioned for a reason. Maybe you don't pay attention to proposed legislation that these people support (either directly through advocacy or by being politicians, or indirectly by supporting those who directly work on the things I mentioned), but I do.

One obvious example off the top of my head that I mentioned in the previous post was the deliberate targeting of intersex people to permit non-consensual surgeries on them. These proposals are baked into a lot of the anti-trans health care legislation that politicians and special interest groups have been putting forth not just in multiple states, but in multiple countries.

In fact, recently one of these anti-trans health care bills was rejected because a state's Senate thought it was not permissive enough in allowing people to forcibly alter intersex people. One can expect a more explicit and clearly worded version to be passed in the future.

It turns out that if you're a single issue voter who just hates the icky icky trans, that has consequences for other people, too, because most people who are willing to use the power of the State to oppress one group will not hesitate to do the same to other groups.

This is kind of pathetic, Revelation.

There hasn't. I'm only speculating because Avalanche has included side content in their other open world titles. The fact they've built broom transportation into the game leaves the door open to the possibility they could've made a quidditch mini game

Tbh, I'd be a bit surprised if it wasn't included, though quidditch didn't really have much of a role in the movies from 3 onward, compared to the books, so I guess it depends on how much they're trying to evoke the movies compared to the books, their budget, etc.

I think it would depend on the crime. Maybe for violent crimes? But that kind of motive would be rather difficult to prove unless the person confessed to it, and if it came with stiffer penalties, I don't think most people would.
