The only reasons to take your fearmongering about resources seriously are the wastefulness of our economy and the obscene inaction on climate change. This is entirely the fault of wealthy people making fucking terrible, short-term, self-centered decisions and now wanting to slam the doors in a continued effort to avoid fixing the messes they've made. No, immigrants and refugees should not have to pay the price for their assholery; we should take dramatic action to make our country more sustainable.

The USA has plenty of resources and immigrants and refugees are a fundamental, honorable part of USA history, economy, and culture.

[LFAQs-redacted-quote]

It's literally irrelevant. Under any other circumstance, we do not use the State to force people to preserve others at their own bodily expense. You are not forced to give blood (far less dangerous, saves more people, doesn't permanently maim your body) or organs (corpses don't even use them and we still don't mandate this) and you are allowed to defend yourself when someone is hurting your body.

I consider myself pro-life unless the birth would result in the mother's death. Children born as a product of rape or incest should still have a chance to live, even if it means adoption.
Pragnancy permanently alters the body. I don't care how someone got pregnant; no one should be forced by the government to carry a fetus to term. The fact that you know it's a body-maiming, life-threatening process but you seem to think the State should force people to endure it is unfathomable to me.

No, as someone who has repeatedly seen the outcome of what you're suggesting, you've pissed me off. I want you to read this and think about the outcomes for rape victims, especially ones who can't afford health care, that your nonsense would cause:
https://www.girlsnotbrides.org/articles/fistula-a-silent-tragedy-for-child-brides/
The government has no business, NONE, forcing people to endure this shit, especially when we have a non-universal for-profit health care system.

I went to a pro-abortion event today, which counter-protesters attempted to shut down. Had to block their attempts to storm the stage, corral them off to one side, and distract them with conversation so they'd leave the main speakers alone- they had pictures of medical waste to traumatize people who were telling stories about how their friends died from untreated miscarriages and DIY abortions. I did not expect to have to intercede like that... ended up having to engage with them for about an hour and a half, which was most of the event. Frustrating, because I really wanted to pay more attention to what was being said.

It was interesting. You could tell where they had recited talking points, where they had practiced attempting to redirect conversations, and where they were completely unprepared. I don't think they were ready to be surrounded by a bunch of victims of CSA, medical professionals, history buffs, and folks savvy on the subject matter of bodily autonomy and the history of medical rights keeping them from harassing the key speakers. I'm not a very good public speaker (I sometimes accidentally say the opposite of what I mean and have to correct myself, which is annoying) but I think I did okay, trying to keep people from yelling while still distracting them. I've actually never engaged with counter-protesters before; we'd been told not to, but when we realized that they were trying to fuck with the primary speakers, well... that's not acceptable.

I didn't really like when very upset people yelled at the counter-protesters- it was mostly older women who did that, I think quite a few of them have some trauma from the pre Roe Vs Wade era and it made it difficult for them to control their tempers. The counter-protesters were clearly fishing for an excuse to call the police as well, which they ended up doing anyway. It didn't cause any problems, though; it's not like anyone attacked them. I guess they felt unsafe when so many people blocked them off away from the stage, which is understandable.

I guess it depends on the system in question whether or not such a thing is appropriate.

Like... in classic titles, dungeons and such were basically massive battles of attrition that tested not just whether or not you could win a fight, but whether or not you could manage your resources through a sequence.

A lot of modern systems seem to focus more on individual fights, and a regen system makes more sense when you do that, but it also means that you can't easily make a... "challenging dungeon" per se, since the attrition aspect of dungeons has been nerfed when you have a regen system.

I think there are ups and downs to both, though I do think I prefer it when regen isn't there.

There's really no getting around the fact that we domesticated them, made them dependent on us, and spread them all over the world to places they don't really belong.

Humans have a responsibility to look after those that we've completely fucked over, imo.

... I think you could argue that ones that are horribly abused could be a form of slavery (I'm thinking of dog fighting and such), but it's a very particular type that really shouldn't be equivocated with human slavery. Edit: No, I'm being too generous. People were right to bring up children. It's abuse of a dependent, but I don't think it's slavery.

There's Bloodstained, Hollow Knight, Guacamelee, Shovel Knight, and the Ori games, of course.

Other than what's already been mentioned? I'll go down my library:

Alwa's Awakening
Blossom Tales
Bug Fables
Dandara
Darksiders (the first game) arguably?
Death's Gambit
Even The Ocean
Foregone
Momodora: Reverie Under The Moonlight
Raji
Skautfold: Usurper (this one seems pretty referential to Castlevania at a glance, though I haven't played it yet)
Skul: The Hero Slayer
Song of the Deep
Super Daryl Deluxe
TAMASHII (might want to check this one out for tone, at least.)
Teslagrad
Vampyr ???
Vigil: The Longest Night
Wuppo ??? Not what you're looking for, but it's cute.

Check out those and see if anything catches your eye.

Alternatively, I know there are several Castlevania fan games.

Second person: Being trans is not an eccentricity. You don't seem to understand the actual problem with the first person's stupidity.

That said, it is not bad advice to say that people who are unsure of their gender might want to consider dating bi/pan people who support trans rights.

This more or less.

There's no reason at all to believe that extraterrestrial life will visit us or vice versa. The universe is way too big for that, imo. It's just very statistically unlikely in the same way that the existence of that life is statistically very likely.

Beyond that I find pregnancy kind of horrifying in general and don't want to experience it. Adoption would be the only way I'd want to get a kid at all, and I would definitely consider that MY kid sort of in the same way that taking a cat into my house makes it MY cat.
