not really, but the people who troll about things that CEmen are actually very sensitive about like poor social skills, romantic life, being a virgin deep into your 20s/30s, being shy etc get way more lasting hate than the people who just troll about politics or whatever

look how much hate sillyknees got compared to proudclad, it was super illuminating. the whole back-and-forth quote-sparring over politics and news is just a timesink for these people, it's just a game. but mention that being introverted doesn't necessarily make you some blessedly intelligent person and the real knives come out (along with a ton of super boring nitpicking about the definition of "introverted" like it really changes anything about the point being made).

tbh i think the hostility is the same as ever. this forum was never anything but people rushing into a topic to either attempt to land a one-line zinger or just play devil's advocate against the TC for shits and giggles, while also getting weirdly intense about it? every time i interact with regular users from here in private it quickly becomes apparent that their level of experience socially is even lower than i would have guessed and it temporarily puts everything into perspective, until i fall back into the incorrect assumption that most people here are fairly normal and just attached to a mostly dead website. the reality is a lot worse than that and i should probably take a more whimsical approach to dealing with it rather than trying to constantly clap back against the onslaught of their bullshit but alas.

the weenie hut jr's episode of spongebob is basically the perfect microcosm of CE

i dont really care if i get ghosted but i do think there's this worrying trend of people becoming overly avoidant of even the slightest negative interaction. i guess the classic example is the zoomer afraid to ask for their mistaken order to be fixed at mcdonalds, that's like a whole genre of memes. my friends who mention ghosting people are definitely more towards that end of the spectrum. they'll say they completely stopped talking to an acquaintance just because that person mentioned not liking their favorite movie or something. shit's weird.

I keep a laptop with a somewhat decent gpu for my LoL/Overwatch/Valorant and then console for everything else. IMO the main selling point of PC nowadays is competitive PVP games that tend to have relatively low requirements. There hasn't been a Crysis since...Crysis itself, honestly, so the whole "building a monster rig" thing hasnt interested me in over a decade.

Honestly dengue fever last year was worse for me.

flu when i was 15 (and normal BMI as opposed to obese nowadays) felt significantly worse than covid for me. seems to be a genetic crapshoot how hard it hits you based off a poll i made on here last month.
