There were a few good laughs and the MC is charismatic, but that's about it.

Additionally, the feminism in this show is straight out of 2012 or something. The catcalling and "women's anger" scenes feel almost like parodies. It also seems a little tone deaf to focus on this "RBG mug" style feminism when women are being forced to give birth to headless dead fetuses and will soon be prosecuted as murderers for ectopic pregnancies.

To be clear, I'm criticizing it for showing a weak tea "relevant to a high powered attorney" style feminism rather than something more radical and current.

People have no idea how many legal protections and positive social development come from California. That state is propping up the union.

How is restricting where people can be and doing nothing else supposed help with any of that?

Let's try giving people what they need before preemptively deciding it doesn't work and criminalizing their existence. Because that's what this is. It's taking a measure that's only been applied to people who have been convicted of sexual crimes and applying it to people who have not been convicted of anything.

It's not easy, but housing and comprehensive supporting services works far better than incarceration, raids, and displacement.

The lack of empathy is sickening. People are far more concerned with having to see people living in abject misery and poverty than having people live in that condition.

The solutions proposed in this topic by people with that attitude have been: forced displacement, mass arrest, forced withdrawal, or ignoring them altogether.

I'm sure moving them to the middle of nowhere will help them with jobs, housing, sobriety, and mental health. Arrest records and drug withdrawal will be great for them as well, along with the lack of meds and I'm sure it'll cause a house to materialize around their persons and jobbies to fall from the job trees.

It's impossible for a society as rich as ours to simply provide people with their needs so you don't have to suffer the indignity of having your precious eyes witness people suffering.

Maybe we should take care of the people with the most need first? You seem to have a problem with them existing in certain areas, but also don't want their urgent needs taken care of urgently. So what exactly do you wan them to do?

Maybe your anger should be directed at whatever is increasing the cost of living for everyone, or causing fellow citizens to become homeless, or restricting the supply of affordable housing? I think you'd find some common answers to those questions. Where as blaming people on the ass end of society and shuffling them around solves nothing.

We absolutely had bad intentions. The US doesn't have good intentions when it comes to its overseas policy.

Not to mention that no one has the right to design other people's governments by force. No, it completely changed my tastes in anime and there basically hasn't been anything like it since in terms of character dynamics between the main couple. The closest I've seen is Bunny Senpai, and only for the first few episodes.

It's possible for both to be victims, but not on the same level, for Heard to have been lying about the specific allegations that were the subject of the trial, but not about others. There doesn't have to be one victim or "the victim." Toxic relationships are often mutually abusive.

Gay and bisexual men are being diagnosed more because they're going to the doctor when they get this shit. The stigma of gay sexuality being more disease-prone and trauma stemming from the AIDS epidemic has resulted in gay/bi men having a much more involved relationship with their doctors when something looks or feels off.

The reason monkeypox is spreading the way it is is because people don't understand the symptoms, and when they get the blisters and shit, they put off going to the doctor. They also don't understand how it spreads, meaning they don't take the proper precautions. You can get it from working in a close proximity to a coworker, you can get it from direct contact with an infection site, and you can get it from touching an object that's been contaminated like an article of clothing or from an office chair that's touched an infection site. You can get monkeypox through your skin.

There are two aspects of this coverage that makes the monkeypox outbreak even harder to contain.

First of all, scapegoating queer men. Topics like this paint it as a disease that's more likely to befall gay men than any other demographic. That's not true - gay men are more likely to get tested for it which is leading to higher rates of diagnosis, and one reason this is becoming an outbreak is because other demographics aren't getting tested for it and are spreading it without being diagnosed. When you hear "the majority of monkeypox cases are found in men who have sex with men", you probably don't feel as vulnerable to it - but all it takes is Susan from accounting getting a rash from her husband who got it from his coworker who got it from their daughter, which is a series of events that's more likely to happen when all of those people think it's a "gay disease" that they're not at risk of getting.

The second thing is saying that monkeypox is an STD.

Without insulting the intelligence of anyone flocking to this bullshit, monkeypox is not an STD.

As mentioned - monkeypox can be transmitted through airborne pathogens and both direct and indirect touch. You can get it from coworkers. You can get it after bumping into a stranger. You can pick something up that's been in contact with monkeypox pathogens previously, and the disease will infect your skin. None of those causes are inherently sexual despite the right-wing hysteria about this disease being a gay STD. You might as well call COVID or leprosy an STD, because you're more likely to get those diseases from fucking an infected person than from going to Whole Foods.

This is a Mackorov topic so the intent is obvious, but rather than get bogged down in the dumb CE discourse horseshit, let's be productive. You're just as susceptible to monkeypox as any gay man of any level of sexual activity, even if you're the straightest virgin who ever walked the earth. So instead of scapegoating promiscuous queer men as the bringer of this plague, consider making an appointment with your doctor the next time you get a particularly nasty rash or other significant ailment or discomfort. Consider getting a blood test for HPV or any other blood-borne diseases you haven't gotten tested for in a while. And maybe try to be more open with other people about getting doctor's appointments, and urge them to get checked out themselves. Like I know that's gonna sound like pussy shit to anyone reading this, but it's a reasonable and thoughtful course of action to protect yourself and others against yet another contagion.

I guarantee you that both the Guardian and the Post have discussed this multiple times each. Along with every other liberal outlet. That's where I learned about it. We've had multiple topics about it on this board and the politics board with articles and every single one cites "liberal media" outlets and explicitly discusses the prevalence among LGBT people.

What? I've never seen the topic mentioned without LGBT people and the percentages being mentioned.

There's nothing pipe dreamy about it. At least the idea of a public, low cost option in places people want to live. That's been done before and will be done again. Free, maybe, maybe not, but it is actually possible to have good things and meet people's needs.

I don't see what type of successful attack Mayo Pete could possibly launch on Joe. They represent the same type of politics and the only circumstances where a careerist like him would risk gunning for the big guy is one in which the administration has completely collapsed and Pete would presumably be tainted by that as a cabinet official.

The best he can do is a "youth movement" to.....do the exact same things. But younger.

It does and to a much larger extent has for a long time. It didn't get a movement because men don't really organize like that and because one wasn't nearly as necessary.
