Did you start to feel motherly and emotional or something during pregnancy, but it ain't happening with me so far. I basically just feel more cynical than before, but with the added parasitic organism in my uterus.

It felt like a parasite for a good while. I think I felt more towards her when she started moving around. But even that would freak me out. It was like a little chest burster and youd see her making waves across my belly. She also loved to kick me in the same rib, over and over and over. I honestly think she might have cracked it. She was overdue by 11 days and all I could think was GET THIS THING OUT OF ME

I didnt feel bonded until I actually held her in my arms. But part of that was also me disassociating because I was always worried something bad could happen after it took so long to get pregnant. But as soon as I heard her first cry I turned into a wailing teary mess with how happy I was.

I wish I were rich enough to afford a surrogate. Some women enjoy every moment of it. Props to them but I wasnt one of them. I wanted kids badly enough to do it though.

I've been trying to work out and diet, but between my job, the long hours and over night shifts, it makes it hard to keep a steady diet going >_> Getting a long call at 2am and coming back to the station makes it really tempting to just grab a snack to unwind lol

Thank you! Those shifts sound horrible. I would be snacking too. I just sit on my butt working from home all day. I dont have an excuse other than being too close to food sources all day. So I just stopped buying any snacks at all except on occasion.

Its funny because I did so well in my pregnancy I only gained the recommended amount. But I was horribly nauseous most of my pregnancy and the latter half was just too uncomfortable to eat much. So when she was out I started binging. I gained most of my weight after I gave birth. I was so exhausted from a newborn and missed out on food for so long. I also didnt breastfeed so I didnt get the added calorie burn from that.

I hope you dont get the nausea because it was a real nightmare for about 20 weeks.

No real diet. Just counted calories. Diets arent sustainable for me and I end up binging every time I try. I just ate what I wanted but in moderation and weighed my food and such. I havent done that this last month but had a general idea of calories I was consuming and remained careful.

I also do IF and only eat between 11am - 7pm

Thank you! I actually avoided the scale for the last month because I stopped going to the gym due to migraines and hormones being crazy. I was really surprised to see the number this morning. Now Im extra motivated to lose those last 5 lbs

17 months later but I did it!! I have a few more to lose before Im at my pre-pandemic weight but Im so happy.

I dropped about 17 lbs from my highest point. I actually gained 10 lbs after pregnancy before I decided to turn things around and start losing.

It may not sound like a lot but Im 52 and a woman with PCOS so it was no easy thing.

Nice. Probably was too focused on getting a Queen.

I mean if you want to be cheap then to pick up your own food. People driving for these apps are just trying to make a living. Same as everyone else. Especially with the price of gas nowadays. Anyone who orders food and doesnt tip is a shitbag.

I completely agree that tipping culture is dumb and there is a reason most the rest of the world doesn't have one. But you change that by not going to businesses that use the tipping model and patronizing ones that pay their employees proper wages. You change that by calling/writing your legislators and telling them you want restaurants to have to pay real wages.

You do not change that by going to a tip-based business, using their services and then not tipping. You hurt only one person doing that and it's your server. You just make yourself into a complete asshole, regardless of your noble intentions.

He has said a lot of off putting things in the past but generally hasnt seemed all that bad in a while. Ive come to understand its his way of dealing with the type of job he has and the trauma he witnesses daily. He should find healthier outlets though. Maybe this will be a good break for him.

Love it. I'm not fully up to date on how it works these days, but I know before there used to be various restrictions on what you could buy.

I'd want use of them to be as flexible as possible so people have choice on how they use it

Were still unsure if were one and done as well. I thought Id be ok with it but I do want her to have a sibling to play with. Or if something terrible were to happen to me and my husband, she wouldnt be alone. Things like that creep up on me its weird. My husband is fine with just our daughter. But I get so many people guilt tripping me to have another and that decision is between me and my husband alone. Its irritating.

Well my husband offered to bbq the chicken and grill the corn. Ill be making sweet potato fries. Dunno what to do with the shredded carrots. Maybe Ill make a chicken salad later this week.

No Im like their star kid in terms of success so they get to brag about me to all their friends and family somehow. They still tell people Im an engineer even though I havent practiced in over 7 years.

Yeah I love the idea of meat pie type things haha. Only thing is making the dough in advance. I do plan on roasting a chicken tomorrow. Maybe Ill do empanadas/pierogies with the left overs and make the dough ahead of time tomorrow. Maybe tonight Ill just toss everything into some casserole thing.

Ive never made a casserole tbh so I have no idea how to. Any tips? My parents were immigrants so it never was a thing growing up.

I'd roast the sweet potatoes, carrots and onions together with some salt, pepper and rosemary (maybe a couple other ingredients). I would just keep the chicken separate with spices and grill or broil it.

I guess that is fairly basic...

The only thing is the carrots are pre shredded. I made bulgogi with it the other day. I want to use whats left of it. I have corn on the cob that needs to be used as well.

Those look really good. I dont have the ingredients but maybe empanadas. Though it sounds like you need to make the dough ahead of time. A good idea for another time. I think my daughter would like that too. Trying to make food that I think she would like or at least want to try.

So interesting. Ive been breaking the news throughout the week to people and it turns into a therapy session every time. They are also unhappy but they dont have a safe place to speak. They know Im leaving so they feel like they can vent. My head has been spinning from it all. But Im glad Im able to validate their feelings and give them an outlet.

Meh game is meh

Ive made chicken soup with egg noodles from scratch. Its fairly easy. Just boil the chicken with a bunch of veggies: onion, carrot, celery, herbs, etc. Remove chicken when its cooked and chop it up. Cook noodles in the broth and add shredded chicken.

The Queen. Not because I cared about her really but shes been queen the entire time Ive been alive. It hits hard in that sense. Its almost like her presence has always been a part of my identity. Its surreal that shes really gone

My grandma made it to 92 but she was in rough shape at the end and struggling with dementia. I was devastated but also glad for her to have found peace finally. The last years were so hard on her.

He was a narcissistic mamas boy and pathological liar. His mom was also pretty bat shit. We broke off a wedding two days before because his mom threw a fit at our rehearsal and said she wasnt coming. He wanted to postpone until she changed her mind even though we had all our guests already flying in and all the deposits paid. I realized he did not really care for me (he was verbally abusive for a few months before too) so I declined postponing and broke it off instead.
