Nothing matters. Life doesn't matter. The time between this instant and your death is instant. At one point we all die and our memories are gone. The only point is to not suffer along the way as much as possible and prevent other suffering in the world, but even that is fleeting and matters only in the instant.

Therefore you need not change, especially if it takes more effort. Only change if you truly desire it, otherwise strive for contentment with what you have, look for things that will make your time existing less miserable and ensure time does not slow down and seem to become endless.

In the end none of it matters, and due to the nature of the universe, the basic rules and mathematics, even our decisions are predetermined. They are based off the experiences we have had, leading back to when we had no choices. Everything will play out the way it should mathematically if we had enough information.

So sit back, relax, don't stress, enjoy yourself as much as possible and wait for the ride to be over.

I just realized that my total casino winnings is higher than my total paycheck for the one job i had...

I'm literally a more successful gambler than worker.

Back in the day Nevada had restrictions on the payouts for slot machines, with the lower coinage machines having a higher payout return rate. I believe nickle slots had a 97.5% return rate.

This would let anyone who planned things out make money playing nickle slots (while getting free drinks). The trick was to play a slot machine till it paid out, and pay attention to the slots around you while doing so, switching to whichever slot machine was played the most without a big payout over the time you played yours.

With a bit of testing this would lead to somewhere around a $20/hour average payout while playing slots....which was significantly more then most jobs paid back then (min wage was under $10 in CA at that point).

No clue if that still works, I think they have digital slots now that are no longer random etc, and not sure if they still have to pay out 97.5% etc....but it was awesome back then. Sadly I got paid more than that an hour, and it's boring as hell, so I didn't really take advantage, only doing it when we went to vegas to compensate for the money my wife lost lol.

If you brewed it yourself, then no, it shouldn't.

If you bought it from the store, they often add sugars or sugar substitutes etc, but then it woulda said on the bottle.

By itself it shouldn't do anything except maybe boost your blood pressure a bit (believe it does have caffein in it).

What if we all made a marathon of 20 80's movies to watch and then we watched them all back to back on a weekend? That would be kinda freaking awesome.

I'd have to go with just Army of darkness from the series though, even though the first 2 rock. BTiLC for sure. Goonies. Bettlejuice (even though I just rewatched it recently), Lost Boys (love the soundtrack),Back to the future (also seen too recently), The princess bride for sure, prob Never ending story as well, Tron, Robocop,Empire strikes back, Aliens, Superman II (best superman), Heavy Metal (hard to choose between Akira and this tbh), Mad Max Beyond Thunderdome (best mad max), Ghostbusters. Indiana Jones (gonna just go ahead and say we watch all the episodes in a series around that time...which lets us watch Terminator and T2 (since T2 is 91). Gonna toss in the original batman as well, and that finishes the top 20 list for me I think.

Would be an awesome marathon!!

Yeah, that's nuts. I didn't even think I could count the "free rent" as part of the payment, but if that's the norm, then it should be super affordable. Expecting them to pay you to stay at your house and care for you is peak boomer entitlement, lol

Works for nanny's as well. I owned a home so when I worked as a nanny, I just got paid (only $10 an hour and even that really added up fast). The person who worked for my family before me lived with them though and only got paid a bit over room and board (saved up and moved to Africa which is why I took over).

Live in Nanny's are great for families with young children where both parents work. If you have an extra room in your house it's pretty easy to get a college student etc that will live there and be a nanny for almost nothing.

Same for the elderly with live in care. Honestly it's not really worth it anymore since most jobs pay $15 or more an hour, even part time, and you can rent a room in most areas for $500 or so (including utilities and internet). That means at $15/hr + you only need to work less than 10 hours a week to pay for the same benefit you get as a live in nanny/elderly care, and any additional work you do is extra cash for you (generally far more than you get paid in addition to room and board as a nanny etc.

Eventually that is probably going to change things, but for now, $10/hr is still the norm for a nanny in many areas, and plenty of people exchange those services for room and board as well. As more boomers need home care though it'll change i'm sure.

Nifty, but what about like...the actual medical care part of it? If you're elderly, that's the main reason you're in assisted living in the first place.

My goal is to remain in my home and just hire someone to take care of me, if it's still feasible by then...
Never want to end up in those assisted living homes that treat you horribly and charge insane amounts...
But like, my grandfather was paying $120K/year over a decade ago. Surely for that kind of money I could literally just hire someone full time to care for me...

Yeah those assisted living places can be hell, especially if you have no visitors. I tried to help out with others as much as I could when my wife was in one for awhile, and some of the stories were so sad (also some relatives/sons etc are so freaking mean omg).

Health conditions could make it harder if you need a nurse etc, but honestly you could probably get a nurse to be your companion and just pay for their portion and it would still be cheaper (and the nurse would be happy living on a cruise ship and partying it up lolz hehe).

I highly recommend the elderly get a live in nurse instead of going to a home etc if they can. If they already paid off their home and can afford the taxes etc, and have a spare room, you can get someone to live with you and help with shopping/making meals etc, and light nurse needs, and still have a fairly normal life where you are mostly self sufficient.

Would also help alot of younger people with housing which is ridiculously expensive right now. The problem is alot of elderly want to charge rent while getting nursing services for free lol. My friend had a situation like that, where the owner charged him 900 a month for a room, but then wanted him to do tons of work and help him shop etc. IF someone is living with you and helping take care of you, do the shopping etc, you really shouldn't be charging them rent as well, heck if you can afford it you should pay them, but certainly don't expect them to spend 40+ hours a month helping you AND pay full rent.

I love crab and I don't like lobster and I don't get why anyone likes it tbh.

Shrimp is in between them, with argentine shrimp being my favorite and most likely for me to enjoy.

Crab though is delicious and I miss all you can eat crab the most out of anything pre-covid.

I can DESTROY king crab in an all you can eat buffet, but as much as I can eat and as fast as I can tear it apart, there are other people with even more crab on their tables, it's crazy.

People be eating their own weight in crab (not just the meat but the crabs) at these places lol. I mean it's still probably like 4-5 pounds of actual meat, but the mounds of shells they have on their tables is seriously scary (or was).

I'm happy with about 3-4 pounds of crab legs, which seems like alot, but it's really only like 1.5 pounds of meat probably. Problem is without buffets at this point that is freaking $300 or so...way too expensive (especially when at most casino's etc it was 20-30$ before).

I STILL didn't do it that often back at those prices, but it was a treat every now and again. Now I pay more than that for 1 dungeonous crab which is a snack and not a meal, but still worth it just to enjoy the taste again every few months.

Crab season starts June 15th so just about 10 days away, god I hope this is a better season than last year, but even if it is, the cost to transport etc is up so much the prices will probably still go up and not down sigh.

Or paying for assisted living places etc. It's seriously crazy.

There are ways to make it cost less than $100/day on a cruise, especially if it's a specific cruise line you repeately use, and you book the new cruises while ON the cruise.

Royal Carribian for instance, you can get a standard room for about $120/day normally, but here is the trick, you can get up to $600 on board credit (per person) along with other advantages if you book while on a cruise already. The required min length of the cruise to get the full $600 is a 7 day cruise.

So how do you set it up to pay less than $100 a day (including tips per day etc, which are 14.50 a day per person?).

Both parties make a cruise reservation (multiple in advance) for 7 day cruises back and forth between 2 ports (go from 1 cruise ship to another, or sometimes you can even do it on the same ship). Both get the $600 on board credit per day. Base cost is $120 a day each *7 days is $840 each. In addition you pay 14.50 (or 29$) a day in tips (this are voluntary mind you, so you could avoid that but then the people on the ship don't get paid so that would be pretty sucky).

There are taxes and fees that are added to that, so your end cost is 1680 + 201= 1881 + 188$ (taxes) = 1969$ per 7 days. Kinda expensive right?

Nope, because you book it ON a cruise you get $600 of onboard credit back. Big deal right? that just means you can buy things on board and doesn't reduce the price.

Nope, you can go into any casino on the boat and transfer onboard credit onto any slot machine, and then cash out right away to get it back in cash. The above two people can both do that, so they get $1200 back per 7 days, making the total cost to be under $800 per 7 days or just about $100 total per day for both (about $50 each per day).

That includes the room, all the meals and basic drinks (lemonade/water/coffee or tea with breakfast etc).

It does not include internet ($20 a day but if you choose the right location/cruise you can use your phone for internet often even when not in port). Free tv is included and of course all the activities on the ship etc.

Still adds up to alot, but it's FAR cheaper then most assisted living. You have someone make up your room every day etc. Laundry is usually about $30 a bag, but some cruise lines have 1 free laundry day a week.

For an elderly couple this is really not a horrid idea, especially if you have an expensive home you have not paid off, or that has extreme taxes (since many homes are valued so high, taxes by the state can be over $1000 a month now, which is very hard for an elderly couple to handle if they are just on social security.

Instead, they can sell the home, get a bunch from the sale (even if they still have a mortgage) and with social security + the money from the sale easily live on cruise ships for the rest of their lives.

Gave up on it by episode 3, may go back some day.

I knew a chick that looks JUST like starlight (lived with her for awhile). She was batshit crazy (seriously). She def didn't have an eating disorder though, just looked like that naturally.

Didn't really like season 2 either tbh, so not surprised season 3 hasn't drawn me in. I'm trying to watch hawkeye and Stranger things as well, and enjoying Hawkeye the most of the 3 shows I was watching.

Gave up on Boys, still gonna give Stranger things a go (havn't even finished the first episode yet, i'm sure things will speed up soon), but Hawkeye I'm actively enjoying, the young female archer girl is cool and funny lol.

Gave up on moonknight as well, seriously having a hard time enjoying shows lately. Def enjoying Obi-Wan though, the young princess is awesome lol, and episode 3 is prob my fav of all the recent star wars episodes (bobba/mando/obi).

The first one though, seriously, it's like I never watched it. There are some movies like that in the last 5 years or so, where I don't remember anything (like I totally wasn't sure if I had seen Star Wars Episode 8 for instance until halfway through lol), but spiderman?

Spiderman was my favorite comic so I watch all the shows/movies etc, and even read the recent spiderman comics (in the past decade), only ones I kept up on at all. To forget a whole spiderman movie completely is crazy.

It's like I never saw it. I did see it of course. I love spiderman and see all movies that are released, but, I absolutely remember nothing from the movie, not even a bit. It's a total blank. Getting old is weird.

I've used serrano peppers before when making sauce/soups etc, it's a bit more of a kick then bell peppers AND much cheaper in the store. That is generally as far as I have gone with peppers though. Gonna switch that up soon.
