the start would be sort of like how you begin in Dragon Age Origins. How you pick an origin. In this game you select a state, and your character starts there. Each state has its own unique starting questing and story. You finish the starting state story and you can then go to other states and begin the national main quest. Depending on your home state, your character will have different perks and skills

The main story goes to every state as you travel around meeting npcs and recruiting people to help you. The goal would be to discover a cure for the virus
